WCR: Showing some mild signs of being low. :dizcat Between AMPS and +3, he downed a can of LC and completely licked the bowl clean. between +3 and +3.5, he ate almost a half of a can of LC. At +3.5, when he tested at 37, I went ahead and broke out the HC. He had a couple of spoonfuls. I then mixed him up some MC with the remaining HC and LC.

He's of course picked a day when I have to leave in a little bit. Next test in a few minutes.

ETA: correct AMPS number

Good job with managing the numbers, Jordan. If you need to head out, and I hope you can delay until Willow's numbers are stable, remember to leave out plenty of food.

Come on up to the 60s Willow and surf there, so your mommy can do what she has to do.

He's up to 50 at +4. Apparently, he's decided today is a good day to respond to the HC. I don't have to leave for another 45 minutes and with the reaction he's having to the HC today, I expect him to be on a carb HIGH by then lol. Tons of food will be left out when I leave and I'll probably have my mom come by to "babysit". I'll only be gone a couple of hours and won't be far from home.

I'm not sure how I feel about him earning a dosecrease, since he hasn't held dosecreases well, even with shaving the dose.

It's entirely your call about the decrease. You've been working hard to get Willow regulated -- not that Willow wants to cooperate a lot of the time!! The newer version of Tilly has the kitty earning a decrease if numbers drop below 50 three times on three separate days. Usually, a drop below 40 automatically earns a decrease. It may be that for Willow, you need to reset the cut off so it's three drops below 40 to earn a decrease. You know your cat. I would like to see what others have to say though. If Willow's shed is overly full, you may need to be around to catch any of these drops below 40 and I know your schedule can be challenging.

I knew I was in for trouble with Willow when he went OTJ so easily before (well, easily once we got through the DKA and overdose and realized he was so insulin sensitive at the time). I figured it would come back to haunt me later. I'm going back to work this week, so I'll likely just consider his decrease earned, since I won't be able to test during the days and if I keep him at this dose and he drops again, it's likely to be a major drop to the basement.

I'm home, so no more HC for him. He's all snuggled up on his little bed on the desk flicking his tail at my fingers while I type. :)

I've actually been thinking lately that Willow might need a reduction. The way he drops and rises so fast, I think there are times he could have gone low (looking especially at 8/18 PM). I would try a reduction and see if it flattens him out at all.

Libby, I think that often (that he has dosecrease worthy lows that I'm missing). I love my new job, but HATE that I'm not home more to do a better job with Willow and his regulation.

I understand, I'm not doing as good a job with Jazzy as I did with Lucy. Same job, but my responsibilities have increased since Lucy was on the juice. We have to do the best we can, that's all.
