And Trix continues to love this dose. No further comments on that  !

I think I finally figured out at least part of the problem with my civvie triplets. As I've mentioned before, they're digestive systems are sensitive and backwards...they can't process high protein grain-free food (it runs straight through them), and they won't eat wet. So last January I finally bit the bullet and took a different approach, switching them to Science Diet Hairball and Purina One Hairball blended together. It made me cringe, but it was also a miracle...for the first time in their 10 years, they had consistently solid poops and weren't throwing up at all. Until a couple weeks ago. All of sudden, Zen and Noah started barfing, and Petey would sniff his bowl endlessly, but not eat. I thought the kibbles had gone bad, so I tossed them, then bought Nutro to replace the SD. The problems continued, so yesterday, I tossed the Nutro, and bought a new bag of SD. It was the same thing...Petey would sniff and not eat, and Noah barfed, even though it was a new bag.

Sooooo...I popped online again last night. Somehow I missed this before...SD "improved" their foods! It now contains all the fancy extras (fruits, rosemary extract, etc) that my guys can't handle and I was trying to avoid by buying their crappy products to begin with! I wanted a stripped down, bare bones, lower protein/high fiber food, and that was exactly what the OLD SD was. Not any more. I am SO mad. Once I discovered this, I also found that I was not alone...there are many complaints about cats getting sick and refusing to eat the "new and improved" formulas. What is wrong with these companies?????? Leave well enough alone, and if you want to get in the fancy food game, develop a NEW line.

For now, they are just getting the straight up Purina One hairball. Noah did barf a little with his first round this morning, but hopefully that is just because he's still working the SD and Nutro out of his system. I have been losing sleep for weeks over this...

Sorry to go on and on with an OT, but I know you guys understand...

And now I have to get ready for work. Today, we begin set up for BeadFest and tomorrow the show actually opens, so it is going to be a whirlwind weekend. If I'm MIA, I'll still have my wonderful LL family in my thoughts and prayers.

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Nice greens Trixie! Oh my on the food. Why would they change something like that. That is insane. I would be mad as well. Poor civvies. Healing vines for them and calming vines for you. Enjoy your bead fest. I know it will be crazy but fun. ((((Amy))))

Hi, Amy, I hope the straight-up Purina One works out for the triplets. Poor kitties with their sensitive tummies.
Good luck with the bead show! I hope it's a great success for you and your store!

Well well well, Miss Trixie, look at you and your GREEN-ness!! BEAUTIFUL!!
Keep up the good work!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Looking good Trixie! She definitely likes this dose! Lovin' that green here.

OMG on the fuds. I so agree, if it isn't broken then don't fix it. Perhaps if there is enough complaints maybe SD will reline the error of their ways. Her's hoping it all works out for you, and the kitties.

Good luck with BeadFest. I hope all goes well.

Re: 8/22 Trixie AMPS 136 +2.25 68

Oh Amy, how I feel for you! Both of my civvies have food issues. Neither can/will, eat wet. Clancy barfs it..EVERY TIME!
And I'm just dumb enough to keep trying. Well, he sits and watches Checkers eating, so I give him a little.

Tux rarely eats wet, and often barfs dry also. I too, keep switching foods. The last one was Wellness Core, grain free.
Neither will eat that, so I use it for treats, when Checkers lets me groom him, or to lure him out of cube to test/shoot.
Now I'm back to Purina ONE Sensitive Systems, but they're not crazy about that either. I need to see if it will help the barfing.
I hate even having dry in the house, because Checkers is relentless at trying to find it.

Do you have any problems keeping it from Trixie?
I hope hope hope, the new Purina works for the triplets!

I iz one tired bean tonight...and the show hasn't even started yet  ! Set up went well, but it was HOT in the convention center - and I love heat! Day 1 of excessive driving is done!

Trix is having a beautifully green day today. I so happy with her +2 this evening.

And, more than that, I am very happy to report that, with the removal of all fuds that contain crazy ingredients that cats definitely don't need, we've had our first barf-free evening in 2 weeks. I so hope we are on the right path. I know my triplets' patterns very well, and I can tell when the barf is a food sensitivity versus a stomach issue. This was definitely a food issue. When I have my head about me, Science Diet will be receiving a scathing e-mail.

I have to leave for the show right after Trix's +2 tomorrow. I'll try to set up a condo, but I am sad I won't be able to visit....

Looking good, Trix!  I'm glad you figured out the food with the triplets. Yay on no barfing! :-D :-D Paws crossed for Beadfest.

Way to go! Trixie!
Such beautiful numbers!!!

I'm sorry about your Zen, Noah and Petey's barfing problem.
But at least you found out the cause. Good work, Amy!
I hope they will settle with straight Purina One.

Lucy has a super sensitive tummy too, but I am afraid to try different food.
Also she has FD and CKD, so I don't have a whole lot of choice.
I wish I can find the PERFECT food for her.
In an attempt I tried raw meat diet for Lucy a long time ago, and it ran straight through her too.
