Tiger is still with us-we weren't sure he would be. We'll see what today brings. He might be a little better this morning.

Thank you all for caring so much!! :bighug:
I will keep you posted. Not sure if we will go to ER.

Oh Kathy. I'm so sorry Tiger is still poorly. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Is there a reason why you don't want to bring him to the ER? Are you worried about the stress of it?

And are you just trying to get him through until tomorrow when your vet opens up? Did the vet respond to the video? Our vet allows is to just drop in without an appointment if it’s an emergency/sick cat that cannot wait (we just call first to let them know we are coming first thing in the morning.). I wonder if you can get him in like that tomorrow.

Okay. I hope I am not bugging you here. I know you are busy keeping Tiger’s BG up. I keep thinking about this not being able to walk/falling thing. This happened with my cat Tabitha periodically. She would lose control of her back end and fall down at times. We never really did pinpoint what caused it. I do recall that the vet said that it was a possibility she could have had a “vascular accident” (stroke). Later she did go on to have a seizure and she was discovered to have high blood pressure. After that she really had a hard time walking but made a very good recovery. She lived on for quite a while after these episodes of falling and losing it in her hind quarters. So I guess I am hoping that they will check Tiger’s blood pressure first thing when he gets there before they do much to him like draw blood or anything. Or else they may need to wait until he is calm and quiet. I don’t know what Tiger is like at the vet, but it could be very important to find out his blood pressure. Does he howl at night or anything? Have you ever seen him do anything like pressing his head in a corner or against the wall? I am hoping the answer to both of these questions is no.

Suzanne once again you are so wonderful!!!:bighug: Thank you for caring so much!

Just got up from napping with him and saw this. You are not bugging me! We did decide to wait for our vet-hopefully tomorrow but if not we already had a tuesday appt for Ray-thinking we can swap.
I don't know about his blood pressure but I will ask. We did find out pre-op for dental that he has some fibrosis in his heart so I'm guessing he probably does have higher pressure.

I have divided what happens into 3 stages:
1. wobbly-he did that pre-op but only noted it and didn't know what to make of it. It was gone after dental.
2. bent frame (like a car that has been broadsided) and then falling over-he did this initially last Friday and again this Friday. His right rear leg was stiff making him limp. And then progressed this Friday to...
3. dragging back half-Friday night and Saturday all day. Couldn't even stand up to pee. I held his back half and his tail up for him a few times now.

Yes he has howled at night for a very long time. No head pressing though. He has been having twitch/jerks and this weekend strong jerks when he dreams.

I did research and came up with possible: stroke, heart attack, saddle thrombosis, ataxia, inner ear infection, brain tumor, multiple neuro issues, no reason that could be pinpointed like your Tabitha :banghead::banghead::banghead: Nothing seemed to fit exactly

So this morning when I saw him walk he was back to stage 2.5 or 2. He hasn't moved much since then. I gave him just a pinch of gabapentin in his morning food and he has been resting all day.

I felt strongly that I should call our ER vet so I finally did. Wow. Glad we didn't head there and then call!
So many of their staff are out with covid that they are only taking critically ill animals. They don't make appointments so you take your chances of possibly waiting in your car for hours, they take your pet inside and triage and decide whether to treat it or send you home...they can't tell you anything over the phone.
The only other ER vet facility in the 150 mile area is closed because of covid. There is nowhere else.:(

I am just praying and praying and thinking and thinking of Tiger! Night time howling can really be a sign of high BP. But he may have multiple issues going on. Hang in there Kathy and Tiger. Darcy and I and Leo and Julius are all rooting for you. Come On, Tiger! You are tough! Your mama loves you! Ray and Campa need you!

Wow, Kathy, it really is a good thing you didn't take him today. Terrible that COVID is still wreaking havoc on these places.

In case I'm not on much tomorrow, I will be holding Tiger in my thoughts. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Suzanne! So much! Tiger's daddy is John who loves him so much also, can always get him to purr! He knows how much he is loved! He is tough!
We are hoping to get him seen tomorrow but we do have an appointment already for Tuesday if not! Ray can wait, give her appt to Tiger. We will make sure to ask if they have checked his BP. He could take medicine for that if needed right?
Love you Darcy! Love you Julius! Love you Leo!

Yes. Most likely Amlodipine is the first line BP med and very effective. But we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. I remember Tiger’s other blood work was all good. Well love to Tiger’s daddy too!! Good night to you all. :bighug::bighug:

I am just reading this. My heart breaks reading this. The ER’s here are turning people away even when vets call. Too many patients and not enough staff. It sounds to me like he could have had a stroke or has a tumor as well. I hate to even write this. How is he this morning? Max had high bp and was on amlodipine for several years. It was primary high bp and discovered when I asked for a baseline measurement. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes, they would check while having a dental. That’s not it. I didn’t think it was though. How long until the vet’s office opens? How is he this morning?
