Good Morning, LL!
Yesterday
We're still doing a food dance. Sometimes he initially won't eat a food, but if I walk with him back to his dish and point to it, he eats again. This morning he got 2oz Beef Authority, and we had to play that game. He has definitely had more energy; we play every morning, he has little spurts of running up and down the hallway. His coat even seems softer! I need to invest in a scale because I'm worried he's already lost some weight, and I don't want him to be loosing too much too fast.
I'm dealing with the migraine plague again this weekend.
Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday!

VERY lovely AMPS this morning, Mr. Howell!!! Don't you think that's a bit too low for you, mister? Would you mind bringing it up just a bit, please? 50s and 60s would be nice. :-D

I love it when they have spurts of energy like that, and they get those wild eyes going. Good luck with the fuds, and I hope that he'll FINALLY settle in to eating on his own.

I know that our outdoor kitty, Shadow, tends to eat a bit more if you constantly pet her. If you walk away while she's eating, she'll stop and move away from the bowl.

  I am finding that I have to stand around and coddle Mr. Howell while he eats, unless he is really hungry. He ate all of his breakfast and whined for more at +2.5, so I'm holding out that Authority might be something he'll eat consistently, but we'll see!

Remember, that with the initial diagnosis, most cats eat like they're starving. As numbers improve, appetite decreases.

Until you can get a baby scale, you can always weigh yourself and then re-weigh yourself while holding Mr. H.

His numbers look great!

very, very nice, mr howell!

the room she had last year was just like you described you had, and just like i had when i was in college a hundred years ago. but this dorm is a new one, and ohmygosh is it nice. air conditioning, even - and for oregon it's not like you really have to have AC. most places don't.

hope your migraine leaves you alone so you can enjoy a little bit of the weekend!

Thanks Sienne. :-D I don't even own a bathroom scale for myself, which is what I need to get! I borrowed one a few weeks ago to get his current 15lb weight.
He was much more excited about the Authority food -- he's already eaten about 4oz today, and I've been putting it out a bit at a time. He started burrowing under the couch covers and sneak attacking me! What a bugger!! I kept having to give him a little more, because he wouldn't leave me alone with the meowing and sneak attacking. After the 4oz he finally laid down for his morning nap -- 2 hours later than usual. He's never had this much energy! It's insane! I hope it's a result of him actually finding a food he enjoys.
