YESTERDAY:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=123845

Max woke me at nearly +7.5 last night demanding food. I tested and he had gone down from 256 at +4.5 to 184. I gave him some fd turkey which he promptly ate and was meowing for more. I gave him a little more and brought him up on my bed.He didn't stay and was back to meowing which I ignored and he finally stopped.

I'm wondering, is it time for another increase?

Haven't had an all pink day in a month.

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 INCREASE? 307@1.75+3.25=343

What? I don't get this at all. Or is he bouncing from yesterday's drop of 330 to 180?

That is a flat pink kitty there...watcha doin', Max? Don't worry your MamaBean like that!

He could be bouncing...I hope he does break it tonight, but at a rate that doesn't cause yet another bounce.

Sending prayers for your Mom....

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 INCREASE? PMPS 303

Thanks, Amy. My mom seemed a little better today. Finally. She engaged in a conversation. The doc didn't order the metabolic so they will get that tomorrow. The visiting nurse came while I was there and she thought that my mom was doing better as well. She wasn't too concerned about the anemia or lowish thyroid. She seems to think the infection might have been the cause. Her BP was better tonight as well and didn't drop when she stood. The heart rate is still in the high 90's though.

So do you think he is bouncing? Hopefully he won't come down fast an bounce again if that is what is happening.

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 INCREASE? PMPS 303

Max did drop 150 points in two and a bit hours yesterday morning - that could definitely cause a bounce. He was coming down pretty fast during the day and there were no tests after +6 - nadirs can and do change. However, I still don't think he got into dangerous numbers. If you don't see green tonight, it'll have been 6 doses since the last green and I think that if you are able to monitor him, you'd have room to take him up tomorrow. I say this knowing how much you test.

More vines for your mom, I hope they can lick that infection soon. :YMHUG:

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 PMPS 303+2.25=262

Wendy, so you think I should have kept testing yesterday afternoon? I figured at +6.5 he might drop a little but not too much more. Looks like he might be clearing the bounce tonight. Even when Max is around 70 at +4 or 8 he almost always more than doubles his number by his next shot. Thanks.

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 PMPS 303+2.25=262

I don't think you needed to keep testing yesterday, although you don't have many tests in the back half of the cycle. It's good to do spot checks occasionally, in case they decide to change things up. But I think you were fine yesterday.

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 PMPS 303+2.25=262

Diving! It's not even an hour since the last test and he ate at +2. It's enough for another bounce. How do I prevent this diving? I fed him 4%. Should I feed him the 9% at +1 or 2 all the time even if he is high at pre-shot? How do I stop this craziness?

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 PMPS 303+2.25=262+3=169Diving

Maybe try an experiment where you feed him 8-9% all the time at +2. I've seen some kitties do better on a bit higher LC all the time.

Re: 8/21 Max AMPS 323 PMPS 303+2.25=262+3=169Diving

I'll start that tomorrow although this will likely set off Mother bounce. I started to try it yesterday I think but when he stayed in high blue I abandoned the idea.

Hi Elise.

No advice from me, but I just wanted to sympathize with you. It's so frustrating when you can't figure out what they're doing and how to get it under control.

Good luck with the fuds experiment. I hope it helps.

Sending more healing vines for your DM.

Thanks Tricia. I feel like I'm on a merry-go-round and can't get off. I test so much and yet can't prevent the dives and bounces. I feel so bad for Max and his eat. I appreciate the sympathy.
