Midcycle spikes used to freak me out. Lucian would do that once in a while and have no idea why.
You have to remember, although +6 is 'supposed' to be nadir, few cats actually do it then. Usually between 5-7, but some nadir earlier, some later and some change cycle to cycle, like my Lucian.
Try changing it up, instead of a +6, get a +4 one cycle and then a +7 on another, if you can. Not only is every cat different, with some cats, every cycle is different, won't mention names. ;-) No matter when you test between shots, it's valuable info and occasionally you might catch a nadir.
The usual question for this, could she have gotten into any contraband, food she shouldn't have, people food she shouldn't have? Also, some cats will jump when they get stressed over something or trying to hack up a hairball. Unless she does this continuously, I wouldn't worry about, unless she has a Temptations stash somewhere you don't know about.
Also, my cats eat Friskees , I've found that the Tuna and egg has the same effect as med carb food on Lucian even though it is 8%. What did she eat last before you tested her +6? I buy a variety of flavors, all under 9%, but that Tuna acts like a 15% on him. You may have found a food that has that effect on her. Heather has said, some cats are very sensitive to carbs and if they have been eating a 5% and you give them an 7% they spike. If you can find a couple flavors she likes, say at 4-5% and keep her on those for awhile, you may see a difference.
Keep in mind, because ECID, it's all trial and error to see what works or doesn't for YOUR cat. What's good for one can be terrible for another, so keep working on it. :thumbup
