"Hi. I'm MJ. And I'm a test-a-holic."
All kidding aside.... personally I've seen more than a few OTJers return from the Falls lately, and I do not take for granted that Donovan will remain OTJ forever. He continued to throw a lot of blues at me after his OTJ trial. After about a month, I decreased the number of usual spot checks, and then I eliminated the morning tests *yawn* after ~3 months. It has been almost 6 months since OTJ, and I'm down to testing only M/W/F in the evening. OK, so I have a BUTTLOAD of test strips I'm still trying to use up (expiration March

). It gives me more peace of mind knowing how he's doing, but at the same time, it's great to know I don't necessarily HAVE to test him. If I forget, or am not home, oh well. The flexibility to do that took some getting used to. It also helps that he is *very* good about pokeys. Most of the time he barely wakes up when I do it.
It's up to you to decide how best to monitor your cat, be it a daily chat with her, LB inspections, constant staring, or continuing the pokeys for a while longer. You know her best, and likely will sense when something is "off".
