Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! L just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! Once again Lola and Bug want to make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! these pizza pies totally rock! The tuna cheese is a still a little weird, even with the added tuna and nip, but I have to admit that they are pretty good! And once again this week please don't ask for a tuna mocha....they is just gross and we will leave the tuna in them tuna pies. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!

I hope everyone had a great Monday. Mine was great - another hike. YAY! I'm trying to get in a many as I can before I am involved with caring for William in addition to Nicholas. September will be nuts, and I'm not too sure how any days I will be able to be out on the trails. Besides... our weather has been so great, well the afternoons have, that one just has to be out in it. LOL on the weather comment.  Great here, a different story up north in the North Cascades, especially on MT Baker.... FOG, thunderstorms, and rains!, mixed with a few sun rays in between.... It does make for some interesting hiking adventures! Here's what I posted last night in the condo: "Hi everyone! I hope you day has been a good one. Mine has been interesting to say the least... It was a hike day, off to park Butte at Mt Baker. We made 75 here, a sunny skies m great day in Edmonds. I wish I could say the same about Mt Baker. Weather dude for Mt Baker speaks with forked tongue... no way did they get that sun, or that 65/70. more like 50, foggy, and rainy. I made the lookout, after climbing my 1800 feet, all in a bank of fog, and then the rains started. I made topside dripping wet. I don't think I have ever been that wet on a hike. LOL: you couldn't see a bloody thing. It would have been great if I could have seen any of it. HAHA. About this point the thunder started, so I made my exit. Never did get any lightning, just a few ka-booms, with some rumbles. FUN!!! Well anyways, climbed down on wet rocks, soggy trails, but still had a great time. What I could see was very nice. I can only imagine hoe great the views would have been. I did about 9.5 miles today. Not too bad considering the conditions. Of course once I get back to the trail head, the sun starts to shine, you gotta love it.So only one thing to do: opened the windows, put on some music, cranked it up, got out the munchies, and had a great drive home." Picassa link: Park Butte There is one video in the lot, of Rocky Creek. This is the creek that caused me to abort the hike a few weeks ago. it is a glacial creek that is constantly changing course, and constantly washing out the bridges that are put in to let hikers cross. Another one was installed just a few ads ago, allowing me to go yesterday. Some have crossed without a bridge, but WOW: very wet feet and shoes and pants, plus the water is glacial: murky, you cannot see where you are stepping.... FUN! I am so glad there is now a bridge .

Normalcy on MusketeerVille!   I so LOVE the welcoming committee. Yesterday Lola was waiting, and Elsa and Bug were late. They came running though. I could so see the "MOM'S HOME!!!" as quickly as they ran to meet me, then they ran into the kitchen. Seems that they thought they were starving! and yes... I was ON TIME! So they had to wait a few while I brought in my hike gear. Silly kitties followed me all over the house until I finally went into the kitchen to feed them.  I heard Elsa muttering about the blood oath and that I had 5 minutes it deliver the fuds or else. Elsa? really? She almost always sleeps through dinner.....   It was so funny when I opened the door, when I got home. Lola let out his big MEOW! and then rolled back and forth meowing the whole time. oh where was my camera! in my hike bag.... it was so darn cute, back and forth rolling on the landing. I love this cat. Bug and Elsa just watched her. I could so see the thoughts: "Seriously? She's embarrassing us and all in the world of cat-dom!"

I wanted to share a post from yesterday's condo. It just made my day yesterday. I am amazed at how much Mannie left behind: memories, legacies, thoughts, presence.... and now MANNIE-NANNERS! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. THANK YOU ROBIN!

So I have to tell you this.... I was in a new, upscale pet store this weekend and I saw a 'nanner so of course I said out loud, "Oh look, it's a Mannie-Nanner!" The young salesperson looked at me strangely and walked away. I didn't care - I found a nanner. I had never seen one before except in Mannie's tributes.
Well of course I bought it and took it home to my civvies and sugarfoster and told them about Mannie and his antics that I had read about here and gave it to them in honor of Mannie. Yes, there was a ceremony. They took turns soaking their Mannie-Nanner and clearly, it is their favorite, all-time, toy. I find it everywhere... steps, kitchen, patio, BED...
They know that this is not just any toy- but it is a Mannie-Nanner and they are happy to have this in his honor!!!

Have a great day everyone. I am off shortly to have breakfast with my son, and then a visit later in the day to Seattle to have coffee with a friend. WOOT! A social day!!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

And I am sure September will be nuts but you will also love it, before you know it william will be helping out yard excavators and swimming like a fish too!

Very cute on the Mannie-Nanner! :D :D What a great hike! And you had your rain gear and still got soaked? Those kitties are too funny. Did Elsa actually eat dinner or just meow for it? Have a great day, Michelle!

I love the MannieNanner story! Silly little Lola....what a happy girl! I love how Bug and Elsa look at her like "Who? Her? We don't know her....nope." Too much fun, those Musketeers!

Morning all! More needed -----> ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Elsa, HURRY!

Hi Devon ~O) ~O) ~O) wet ruled yesterday, and me too on that foot bridge. Otherwise It would have been a turnaround for sure. :-D on September, that it will be. But you are right: before I know it William will be chasing his brother around, swimming like a fish, and up to his elbows in those dirt piles with his big bro Nicholas.

Hi Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) yupp!! it was a wet one. I did have my rain gear, but still got wet. truth be told, didn't wear the rain pants, so soggy britches. Nice though that even with very wet boots my feet were dry.I HATE wet feet.... It was kinda funny to watch all that water running off my jacket. ;-) oh well, still was fun. LOL on Elsa - she did eventually eat, after all that talk.  She's a grazer so we really have to watch, other wise Bug, aka Mr Hoover, will eat her dinner, and lunch, and breffis. She's beginning to learn that bottoms up when served or she runs the risk of running out.

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Isn't that a great story? I loved it: Mannie nanners! my thoughts exactly on Elsa and Bug: their reaction for sure.  Silly cats!

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

Hi Michelle. I really enjoyed reading your Loose Lips condo this morning. You're so lucky to have so many fantastic hiking trails in your area. Around here a tree that has an 8" circumference is considered huge. I especially enjoyed reading the post from Robincot about the Mannie Nanner she found. Mannie was definitely a special kittie that touched a lot of lives.

Have a great day Michelle.

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

Morning John ~O) ~O) ~O)

Many thanks!, especially on Mannie. I was so grateful and happy to receive that post from her. It is just so amazing to me how many lives he really did touch.I am a bit taken back here, but ever so appreciative that folks took him into their hearts, and lives. -- THX too on the locale around here. I am grateful for that too! we are indeed fortunate: from alpine to beaches to forests and deserts, meadows, incredible rivers. We are very very lucky indeed. Thanks so much for the visit today, and for your comments. :-D

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

Hey Lil Bit Pit - I so LOVES tuna tuesday! I want a huge pitcher of tuna water please! And may I have some tuna on the side too. Mmmmmm, I loves tuna water!

I don't have any nanners, my bean never got me any and instead of I kickers that I sometimes like to play with. But I wonder if I'd like nanners better.....I'm going to have to talk to my bean and if she won't listen, then I'll just borrow her plastic! I know how to shop, I'm so good at it.

do you think you could give me one of Mannie's Nanners in the meantime?

Signed Maui the Magnificent, never had a nanner to call her own

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

Sorry about the bad weather on your hike yesterday, but you still got some beautiful pictures. That's so funny on Lola rolling around and meowing when you got home. That is cool on the Mannie nanner. I hope you had a good social day.

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

In spite of the wet day, you took some really cool pictures. My DA was an artist and always snapping pics of the sky with clouds for her painting. You had some really neat ones. And you also found the low bush blueberries. :-D I hope you ate some - they are so tasty. Nicholas would like them too.

So cute on the Mannie-Nanners story. Nanners rule here too, thanks to you. And I still see references to Mannie's sunbeams in condos here and there. :YMHUG:

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

Hey Michelle,
That must have been some hike in the rain. But the trail looks wonderfully cared for. And the video of the rapids in Rocky Creek--oh man! To cross that on the rocks would have been almost impossible. It was about 5 times as wide as the raging brook we tried to cross on our hike up Haystack Mt. We had to turn back, too. But your trail now has a new bridge!! I'm glad you had such an interesting time and got some great photos, too.

And the welcome committee did not disappoint. Lola is really too much.
Lovely story about Mannie's 'nanner legacy.

Hope you had a good day in Seattle today and that you are having a fine evening,

Ella & Rusty

Elsa, thank you for the Ethiopian espresso--my favorite. Please tell Bug and Lola that they will have to do lots of pizzas for the Full Sturgeon Moon Party tomorrow night. It will be on Ollie's new bus, which has a pizza oven. Rusty says that if you pilot Maui's jet you can race the bus(!)

Re: 8/20 LOOSE LIPS: a wet day on the trails, Mannie-Nanner

HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It's been nice here, sunny and warm. I did make Seattle today, saw my friend over a cup of coffee. It's always nice to catch up. Other than that today has been a laundry, and shopping, and yard work day. And... I vacuumed! Much to the dismay of all the furkids. No one showed to protect the nanners though. I still cans see the lengths that Mannie went to to protect the nanners from the vacuum. Dang that was so funny. What a great memory.

MAUI! ME TOO! I LUBS tuna Tuesday. My bean made sure that Lola and Bug saved all the tuna juice for you. 4 pitchers worth! That should last the week, right? I will bring some tune too. and.... WHAT???? you don't have a nanner? oh no! I will bring you one then. Mannie left me many of them, and he won't mind if I share one. You will loves it! heeheehee on shopping with the bean's plastic. mega cool! See ya in a few! ~~Elsa, nanner fan

Hi Carla - THX on the pics. and big yes on the weather, but so it goes sometimes. At least I was prepared! ;-) THX on Lola, she is a fun one. She was rolling again tonight too when I came home. What a character! I thought so too on the Mannie nanner. Loved it!

Hi Wendy - THX on the photos. I love weather like that for the types of photos one can get. fog is especially fun. YUPP too on the low bush blueberries. I did eat a few, and thought of Nicholas with each bite. :-D  -- hey thanks on the nanners, and the story. I was so grateful for Robin for posting that. Me too on the sunbeams. Gosh he evolved those. NANNERS RULE!

HI Ella - that it was. wet and rainy and foggy! Oh yes on the trail - it is in excellent shape. The trail is a very popular one, and as I was leaving several were coming in, so they really do make an effort to keep it in good condition. Isn't that creek something else? I know i didn't really want to try and cross it on those rocks, especially with the water as glacially murky as it was: one could not see the bottom! THX too on the pics. as wet as it was, it was a good hike. It ought to be fabulous on a sunny day. -- THX on Lola, and the on Mannie nanner story. i just loved the nanner story.
Auntie Ella - will do! I have told Lola and Bug and they are hard at work thinking of a pizza to make for the sturgeon full moon! maybe Sturgeon pies! Cool on Ollie's new bus - it's got pizza ovens! SWEET! heeheehee - i'd love to race him. Cool! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista, and ready to roll.
