107 darn it! I think he snuck some food in the past hour!! Anyway, I think now I feed him and retest in 3-4 hours? Man, so close :(

Heres the rule: "If he/she is blue at your normal "PS", feed a small meal and test again after about 3 or 4 hours. If his/her number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then the pancreas is working!" Okay setting my alarm. Maybe I should go back to earlier testing times JIC?

Meter variance is 20%. I’m glad his appetite is better.
Right? I was actually so psyched he was eating I sort of forgot to withhold food before testing time!

So what do you mean by meter variance? Do we get to write off these 7 mg/dL as acceptable meter variance? ;) Or should I test again right now and see if I get a different number?

Hi--I have been watching Mr Simon and he is doing great!

107 is perfectly acceptable --just wait when you get that green in the morning and don't forget the meters as @tiffmaxee have a variance of 20%. Honestly for a 18 year old blues (in my book) are totally fine...

Dont sweat the small stuff take a breath and think how far he has come:cat:

I wouldn't test again you can test 10 times and get a different number each time -all meters have a variance of 20%

I will be peaking in the morning to see how it going:bighug:

So happy he is eating:smuggrin:

Okay so you won't call me a cheater if I just wait and test him again tomorrow? We really want to earn this OTJ celebration straight up! I think you are right though 107 seems pretty close and probably good enough for an old guy!?

There is absolutely no way I could EVER test 10 times in a row. It sometimes takes me 10 tries just to get 1 test!!

LOL your funny! about the 10 times-
I will not call you a cheater by any means and I have a good feeling about Simon.

I was fine with anything under 200 with Rico as he was on budesonide long term. He was mostly around 150 (alpha track meter ). The seniors tend to run a bit higher from what my vet tells me.

Get some rest and check in the morning:bighug:
