Mr. Howell threw a fit at me this morning when I had the audacity to try and feed him Chicken FF two days in a row. :? Geez, sorry buddy! I'm going to have to run to PetSmart and do some fud exchanges for the third time.
I might get something other than FF -- time to consult the food charts.
He is extra purr-y and affectionate this morning, just wish he would eat something and not be so picky!
Back to work this afternoon. I don't know what to do with myself with the DBF gone. :-| Hmm.

Hi guys .. such a nice number to say day 6! I hope you can find the fuds mr howell likes and will eat daily for you .. I'm so thankful to have a kitty that isn't picky .. have a great weekend!
 
me too, devon! i think i could give punkin the same food for weeks straight and he'd just put his face down and suck it up! anya is a different story, though. she often is suspicious of her food!

so glad to see mr howell staying in good numbers! yay for freitag!
 
I can't remember if I mentioned this already but try something without liver in it. A lot of cats get sick of liver quickly. That's always my first suggestion with random pickiness.
 
Hi Emily, i don't think i've stopped by your condo before and just wanted to say hooray for Day 6!!!

I've got a picky kitty at the moment too, and we just tried a few different SophistiCat flavors, they seem to be a hit. There are a few that Leo is loving at the moment......the beef flavor, and the duck dinner as well. They are sold at PetSmart. Good luck!!

Thank you all! I am pretty sure Mr. Howell is determined that variety is the spice of life, because he will eat something one day but not the next.
One day he hates BeefLiver and only eats the Chicken, the next day it is the complete opposite: ate the BeefLiver and ignored the Chicken. Once was fond of the Salmon, now he won't eat it. I put out TunaCod and he ate 1/2 of that. :roll: And a week ago, he would ONLY eat the Chicken. Make up your mind, tubby!
Just got back from PetSmart and looked at the fuds -- I think the EVO/Innova and the Wellness are both a little out of my price range, so I went for some 5.5oz cans of Friskies ('list' approved flavors, LC), and some of the Authority because it was on sale. He ate about 2oz of the Friskies Country Style dinner, so I'm just convinced he wants something different all of the time. I was going to try the SophistiCat but neglected to write down which were the okay kinds to give sugarcats -- not to worry though, I will probably be back there over the weekend if he doesn't like these!
 
Also, I've been going by this list, which I realize hasn't been updated since 2008, but when I went to go pick out the Authority food, I noticed there were at least 4 different kinds: Pate, Flaked, for Indoor cats, and Hairball control. All of those flavors were just labeled 'Chicken'. I went with the Adult Chicken can because I assumed it was the one the info on the list is based off of.
Anybody know any more info about this food, or an updated chart?
 
FYI on the Friskies--most diabetic cats are fine with it, but there is a small amount of rice it it. Bandit is very sensitive to grains and starches, and Friskies makes his BG go up a little. Just wanted you to be aware in case Mr. Howell is sensitive, too, there may be some rising in his numbers.

I get EVO 95% from my local independently owned pet food store (You can search here to find one near you), and it's only 1.75 for a 13 oz can, which is cheaper than Fancy Feast. Of course, you'd want to get the smaller cans for Mr. Howell at first to see if he likes it, but if he'll eat any of those foods steadily that is an affordable option for you.
 
Julia, so good to know that about the Friskies! I really don't want to tax him with grain foods while he's on an OTJ trial, that's for sure. I'll try something else tonight. And thanks about the EVO info, I'll look around for it! Thank you!

Have a girls' night! My husband always jokes that when he travels, and calls home, it sounds like there's a party going on :lol:

So glad that Mr. Howell is doing so well!! Beautiful #s!!
 
PMBG+2 59. I skipped his PMBG because HEY. When was the last time I got to be somewhere at 8pm without worrying about my cat?! It's been a long, long time. I left some food out and hung out with friends, because I really don't need to be alone with my cat on a Friday night! :-D
He initially at the Friskies, then decided later maybe not. For dinner he got 1/2can Mixed Grill FF and seemed to like that, but now he has grown accustom to me holding his food dish up to him while he sits on the bar chair... OIY! :roll: I spoil him! He whines if I set it on the floor, like, How dare you make me eat on the floor! Like a DOG!
