Yesterday was.... PINK and Yellow stripe day in MannieLand.... and vetty day.... what was interesting that his BG went down after the vetty visit. It seems that these vista have the opposite effect on him - last few times he has had drops. hmmmmmm..... It seemed appropriate that after all my writings of late on not having much pink in his cycles that today he would do just that. sheshhhh! Never ever will I have the upper hand.  He did manage to bring the BG's down some in the PM cycle. We hope for a god ay today. Paws crossed! Lubs ya big guy. cat_pet_icon
VETTY VISIT:from yesterday's post: Kitties did great! And were well behaved, for the most part. Both pee'd in their carriers, an improvement over letting the vet have it down their shirt front.  Elsa got her anal glands expressed
 much to her dismay, and they were fairly clear, so many be that problem she was having with impacted ones is correcting itself. Then again, could be to because we have been diligent in keeping them clear. She could use a dental, but things are OK enough to hold off until they run their dental special in Jan/Feb. At that time she will also have a senior "best health" panel done, by then she will be a 16.5 year old kitty, and probably would be a good idea. For a kitty that has just turned 16 she is in really good health. YAY! Mannie did well too. I loved the vets comment:"you've done so well with him" she must have said that 4 times.
He is good shape too, a little over with at 13.5 pounds, but I remember when he was 17 a few years ago, so this is a little better! We did a complete Blood Panel on him to see where he is at. The last panel done before all that xray/US stuff had some really out of whack numbers (due we believe to all that as going on with him at that time) and the vet wants to see if any have improved. I'm ok with that. He does need a dental - that I expected. I had planned on doing it anywyas, as I think he fairs better if his teeth are tended to once a year. We have had issue with them in the past (like two years ago - that was awful!), but I'm better prepared to deal with it now. so.... dental on Tuesday for the Nanner King.
All else seems to be going well with him. At this point in time we are still planning on doing a followup U/S, to check on what appeared to be some sort of growth on the liver) in a few months time.
All is well in MannieLand.
Our weather has cooled - YAY! Mannie is very happy - cooler temps means sleeping in his bed again.
He was happy too to spend alot of time outdoors yesterday - made several perimeter checks, several quick naps on the deck. The vet visit didn't seems to bother him much, nor the shots he received. All in a days work, per the Nanner King. The nanners did get alot of attention though. Sometimes they are like a security blanket for him. This morning we had a great test, feed, shoot and clean plate club (YAY, but with encouragement), AND the auto feeder was IGNORED by Mannie (sigh....), AND Elsa Ignored it too! .... Normalcy in MannieLand.
Have a great day everyone! I hope maybe to go hiking today.... maybe. We shall see if the Nanner King gives me a permission slip. Paws crossed.
Hey everybody! What's up? Anybody got anything they wanna do? You wanna go to the beach? Build sand castles and stuff? Maybe one of those beaches where they have piers and street fairs too. I dunno... Let me know what you think! I am ready for anything!! OOOOOOOO! I see Rusty's place is ready for us! WOO HOO! We can go swimming and fishing and he has lots of party LEFTOVERS! SWEET! let's roll! ~~ Mannie
