Yesterday was.... PINK and Yellow stripe day in MannieLand.... and vetty day.... what was interesting that his BG went down after the vetty visit. It seems that these vista have the opposite effect on him - last few times he has had drops. hmmmmmm..... It seemed appropriate that after all my writings of late on not having much pink in his cycles that today he would do just that. sheshhhh! Never ever will I have the upper hand.  He did manage to bring the BG's down some in the PM cycle. We hope for a god ay today. Paws crossed! Lubs ya big guy. cat_pet_icon

VETTY VISIT:from yesterday's post: Kitties did great! And were well behaved, for the most part. Both pee'd in their carriers, an improvement over letting the vet have it down their shirt front.  Elsa got her anal glands expressed :o  much to her dismay, and they were fairly clear, so many be that problem she was having with impacted ones is correcting itself. Then again, could be to because we have been diligent in keeping them clear. She could use a dental, but things are OK enough to hold off until they run their dental special in Jan/Feb. At that time she will also have a senior "best health" panel done, by then she will be a 16.5 year old kitty, and probably would be a good idea. For a kitty that has just turned 16 she is in really good health. YAY! Mannie did well too. I loved the vets comment:"you've done so well with him" she must have said that 4 times. :-D :-D He is good shape too, a little over with at 13.5 pounds, but I remember when he was 17 a few years ago, so this is a little better! We did a complete Blood Panel on him to see where he is at. The last panel done before all that xray/US stuff had some really out of whack numbers (due we believe to all that as going on with him at that time) and the vet wants to see if any have improved. I'm ok with that. He does need a dental - that I expected. I had planned on doing it anywyas, as I think he fairs better if his teeth are tended to once a year. We have had issue with them in the past (like two years ago - that was awful!), but I'm better prepared to deal with it now. so.... dental on Tuesday for the Nanner King. :-D :-D All else seems to be going well with him. At this point in time we are still planning on doing a followup U/S, to check on what appeared to be some sort of growth on the liver) in a few months time.

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Our weather has cooled - YAY! Mannie is very happy - cooler temps means sleeping in his bed again.  He was happy too to spend alot of time outdoors yesterday - made several perimeter checks, several quick naps on the deck. The vet visit didn't seems to bother him much, nor the shots he received. All in a days work, per the Nanner King. The nanners did get alot of attention though. Sometimes they are like a security blanket for him. This morning we had a great test, feed, shoot and clean plate club (YAY, but with encouragement), AND the auto feeder was IGNORED by Mannie (sigh....), AND Elsa Ignored it too! .... Normalcy in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone! I hope maybe to go hiking today.... maybe. We shall see if the Nanner King gives me a permission slip. Paws crossed.

Hey everybody! What's up? Anybody got anything they wanna do? You wanna go to the beach? Build sand castles and stuff? Maybe one of those beaches where they have piers and street fairs too. I dunno... Let me know what you think! I am ready for anything!! OOOOOOOO! I see Rusty's place is ready for us! WOO HOO! We can go swimming and fishing and he has lots of party LEFTOVERS! SWEET! let's roll! ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219

Good start today for Mannie, especially after all that pink yesterday. Good news to hear the vet visit went so well. Have a good day Michelle.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219

Good Morning, guys,

It is great to read that Mannie's vetty visit went well, and Elsa's, too. I agree that it will be good to take Mannie in for a dental now, so you don't have to deal with bigger things down the road. Fingers and paws crossed that the bloodwork turns out fine.

Thanks for visiting Rusty while we are busy with our guest. Today is a beautiful day and he hopes his pals will come here for some fishing or swimming.

Going hiking today, Michelle? Have fun.

Ella & Rusty

Yo Mannie, It looks like a good fishin' day. We can go down to the town park and fish and watch all the artists who are here this weekend painting in the "plein air" festival. I like to sneak up on them and look over their shoulders at their paintings! My beans have fuds left over from lunch yesterday: ham, turkey, chicken, cheeses. Bring the gang, oK?

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144

144 @ 2 WHOA!, and quite the drop for a +2. looks like hiking will have to wait a bit this morning....

Morning Carla - Thanks - look like a great cycle coming up this morning. The boy is on a mission. :-D Thanks on the vet visit - it was good to hear they are doing well.

Morning Ella - I think so too on the dental - just trying to avoid some of the dental issues he had a few years ago. Better to be proactive I think. So agreed on the Blood Work - paws crossed!!! Mannie read Rusty's post, and is warming up the roadster as we speak. He is on his way, gang in tow. :-D Well, hope so on the hiking - depends on where Mannie goes after that +2. I may have a later start, do something closer to home, and shorter. Paws crossed on that too. :-D

Rusty! DUDE! FISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! I am so stoked! I remember that artists fair - we did that last year too. it is so fun to look over their shoulders at what they are doing. heeheehee - they never hear us coming! I an so there for those fuds too! CHEESE! YUMMMMM! See you in a few. ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144

Glad that you had a smooth vetty visit & a perfect vet report, Michelle. About the peeing in carrier, you can use those disposable doggy pee pee liner inside the carrier. Once soiled, just throw away.
mannie planning for some green action on Saunday?

Morning Helen - me too on the vetty report! YAY! Thanks for the carrier tip - that would be a good idea, sure would help with the after the fact cleaning. and right you are - we have GREEN!

Hi Lisa - it was nice, wasn't it - the +3 was even better! Sure woke me up. :-D

Hi Pat - yes, it was early, and nice to see - that blue! ... a sure fire indication that it will be a busy cycle for the bean. The diver wants to do some serious diving this morning.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +3 67, +3.5 67, +4 53, +4.

Michelle,
Tess is the dreaded color this morning, so I hope she and Mannie haven't found the teeter tooter again ohmygod_smile . Hope you can get away for a hike.
John

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +3 67, +3.5 67, +4 53, +4.

WOW!!! Look who has been taking inspiration from all that nice color he saw on his yard patrol. That plus chasing after all the other kitties in the lagoon! (not Neko, she's headed the other way this morning).

Mannie, come on up just a little. High greens are nice. And eat some more, maybe something fish or cheese flavor. Your bean has a great day for a hike planned.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +3 67, +3.5 67, +4 53, +4.

WOW!!!! Mannie!!! Look at you go, handsome boy!!!! WTG!!!! I DO hope that you keep up the excellent work. You're making your Momma Bean very happy!!! Have a wonderful day, you 2! :YMHUG:

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +4 53, +4.5 61, +5 64

Wow Mannie, I'm speechless!! Okay, and a tad jealous  I guess this means you're not traveling too far from home this morning , Michelle. Unless you want to chaperone at the lagoon.

Surf, Mannie, surf

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +4 53, +4.5 61, +5 64

Looks like somebody ate their greenios this morning! Surf Mannie, surf! Hopefully you'll be able to get that hike in sometime soon Michelle. Until then you'll just have to enjoy the greenery from your living room.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219, +2 144, +4 53, +4.5 61, +5 64

Mannie thinks you should hike tomorrow. Besides, it will be less crowded on the trails. Isn't that the advantage of being retired?
Liz

wow - what a morning!

Hi john - oh oh.... Mannie had better go find the ropes... yeah, me too on the teeter totter. Funny in a way how she goes up, he comes down. They simply must find a neutral ground together. :-D Me too the hike, but as the day wears on, looks like whatever I do will have to be very local. That's OK: the one through the woods to the shoreline here is very nice, and if I'm lucky the tide will be out, and that is always fun.

Hi Wendy - Thanks! it's been a crazy but good morning. I think so on the yard patrol! he was out early this morning, and must have been influenced by all that green! Bummer on Neko - one has to love those bounces. not.... He seems to be headed up, so that is good. Appy has been such an ordeal this morning - shesssshhh! beef and salmon are what has him interested, as least for this hour. ;-)

Hi Angela - Yupp! WTG indeed! I'll settle for a surf anytime now. And thanks - crazy day, but a good one.

Morning Barb - yeah, no away from home stuff this morning, and my window of opportunity has long since closed, so whatever we do will be very local. which is OK. OOOOOOOOO! Hadn't though of that! I could chaperone at the lagoon - it is pretty there... bet the kitties would boot me out though.  it has been a good morning, we seem to be successfully working around the appy issues. Hooray!

Hi Tamara - i think he did! Greenios it is! We should market that stuff - a sellout for sure!  and you are right - I can enjoy the greenery from my window, and should have enough time later today, after his nadir, or when he surfs, to get out for a few. Lots of wooded areas here, and beach access. Good to go! :-D :-D

Hi Liz - this is so TRUE! Advantage when one does not work. Sure wish I didn't have that car appt tomorrow.... hmmmmm..... cancel??  and yo are so right: monday is a great hike day if only becasue no one hikes on Mondays.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219,+4 53, +5 64, +6 95, +6.5 107, +7.5

Wow, nice green for Mannie today. Hope you got to get a short hike in today.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219,+4 53, +5 64, +6 95, +7.5 129, +10.

79 @ +10.5.   Now that I did not expect. so we fed him a little in an effort to raise that BG a little before PMPS. ate least he ate his regular food with enthusiasm. Huge relief there....

Hi Carla - oh wow, yes: what a day for Mannie. And I did get a hike in - it was a short one near the house here, but it was good. SO nice to get out. :-D

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219,+4 53, +5 64, +6 95, +7.5 129, +10.

   WOW, what a great day for Mannie. A little tough on the bean though. He could learn to come down a little slower but that is not Mannie's style. Hope you got out for a small hike and your weather had cooled. Have a wonderful evening.

Re: 8/19 Mannie AMPS 219,+4 53, +5 64, +6 95, +7.5 129, +10.

Hi Barbara - thanks! it has been a good one, even with the appy issues and that +10.5. :-D :-D and you are so right - slower has never been his style... I keep asking but get the "HUH????" look back. What a guy! yupp: got a short hike in - tot he shore. Not what was planned, but it was good none-the-less, and was GREAT to get out.

OK.... off to get that PMPS. I so hope he went up, and that we have a shootable number. Paws crossed!

Re: 8/19 Mannie PMPS 117, +1 225

Mannie, dude! I am still in the lagoon. Why did you get out? Let's meet at the grotto, ok? ~Z

Re: 8/19 Mannie PMPS 117, +1 225, +2 267

Nice blue Mannie but wrong way! Glad the vetty visit went well. Uh oh Mannie. Dental day Tuesday? Hope it goes well and no glitches. We are preparing a dental day bouquet filled with lots of vines. So glad your weather cooled off and the Nanner king took advantage of it. Have a great night Michelle!

Fishing?!?! Awesome. Picks me up k? - Tarragon

Re: 8/19 Mannie PMPS 117, +1 225, +2 267

Hi Melissa - oh yes on the wrong way tonight. Part of me is glad - it was a longgggggggggggggggggggg morning here! Me too on the dental day - last one went very well, so we hope it will be a repeat performance. Me too on the temps and the weather - none of us here know what to do with the 95 stuff - most of us don't even have AC. sheshhh!

Hey Mr T!! You gits it! We are even having a midnight fishing thing off the pier. Cool, huh! ~ Mannie oh yeah - picks you up for sure!

Hey Z!! I dunno..... I ate dinner than next thing I know I'm on yellow beaches... what happened? Back to the grotto for me - paws crossed and all that stuff ~~ M
