At normal AMPS time (8:30 am) Grady was at 99. Retesting 15 minutes later he was a couple of points lower. So, as I have to work, I decided to skip the insulin. Every work day I'm able to go home for lunch (+5) and test Grady then. That's why there's so many +5s on his SS. The next opportunity I have is when I get home at +9. Thereafter, I can monitor him closely for his PMPS, at least until +5 (1:30 am). As you can tell, I've been shooting low for quite a few days in a row now and Grady's numbers seem to be getting lower and lower. I'm thinking I should lower the dosage to .75 u so he's in less danger of crashing when I'm not there during the work day. But is that going to screw up the progress he's made to this point?

Hi Dwayne

Grady is looking really great! And the +5 and +9 tests are fine! You are doing a super job :-D

Normally, we wouldn't take a dose reduction for the numbers he's been in although he was 50 yesterday (close!). However, safety is utmost and so all you can do is try and drop him to .75u bid and see how he does. I'd rather see him get consistent dosing then you have to skip. You should be able to tell in a few days whether it works or not. Unfortunately, none of us can predict what he will do but paws crossed he will just keep seeing lovely blue and green.

Thanks. I'll drop him down to .75 tonight and keep him there for a while. Hopefully, I don't get too many yellows.

Well sometimes you gotta think that just cause you measured him at 50 doesnt mean he didnt sneak lower before you did it. And for you anything under 50 is a decrease so its worth a try. Worst case if the decrease doesnt hold you increase again.. but give it a few days.
