Yesterday's Condo

The numbers aren't much better today than yesterday, although he's surfing mid to high blue instead of mid yellow. We went back to the OV for a recheck, and the corneal ulcer is starting to heal - he said it's about 20% better. That's not as good as he'd like it to be, but FD kitties, like diabetic people, heal more slowly. The pressure in the eye was higher than it was the other day, and he is concerned about that, especially since he'll be gone for 10 days starting Thursday. He sent home yet another eye drop, and we're to go back tomorrow to have the pressure checked again. He said this drop should make a difference fairly quickly, and he wants to know before he goes if it's working or not. He doesn't want Cinco to go 10 days with high pressure. Not sure what he'll do if it's not better, but we'll think positively here.

Cinco is VERY tired of eye drops and is very resistant to having them put in. With the cone on, it's twice as hard. The doctor was adamant that the cone stays on. He wasn't happy about my taking it off for t/s/f, but I assured him Cinco remains under control and close scrutiny the entire time. Needless to say, Cinco isn't happy about the cone, either, so I have one majorly grumpy cat on my hands. He did eat a good breakfast this morning, which is fortunate since eating with that collar on is next to impossible for him. He's such a klutz anyway, since he went blind, and you put that thing on him and he's practically immobilized. Poor baby.

Sasha has been a lazy cat all day, lounging on the bed. It was pretty cool last night, so I switched her back to the fleece vest (plus it covers her neck better and I caught her scratching at it  ). I left the vest on today - it's lovely and cool out and in the house with the windows open. She ate well, in spurts. Gave her the last of the AB and left a message for Dr. P to ask if she wanted me to get a refill (probably should have asked that sooner  ). She hasn't called back.

Almost time to get going on dinner. Hope all our LL kitties and beans are having a good day. Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

I'm still thinking of Lyresa and her DH as they mourn dear KT. Sending extra vines to J.D. & Dyana and Zener & Liz & Anne. Continuing vines and prayers to Amy's DF.

Keep on sliding Cinco - about a nice blue PS to make up for that colour that shall not be named last night. You might want to note the partial fur shot on the SS. I find I forget soon when I do that and it might explain some numbers.

Paws crossed the new drops (if you can get them in!) do a wonderful healing job on his ulcer. Sorry he has to keep the cone on so much. Give Cinco some extra scritches from me.

No scratching Sasha!

If I could I would give lil Cinco lots and lots and lots of cuddles!

Hopefully the new drops work wonders for him and he is feelin better soon!

Looks like Skooter and Cinco are dancing around the same area again....I wonder what they have in store for us....

Poor Cinco. Maybe you just need to add some snazzy decorashunz?

Re: 8/19 Cinco AMPS 259 +2.5 197 +4 168 +6 155

Hi Tricia,
I love the blue surf.
Cinco's OV sounds really caring to want to make sure his eye pressure is under control before he goes away.
I hope the new eye drop will do the trick.

Poor Cinco about the cone.
Lucy never had to wear one, but there was one time the vet suggested I put it on Ginger (also eye problem).
But I couldn't keep it on her because she FREAKED!
She thought her neck was stuck somewhere from the feel of it, and started running crazily backwards.
And she kept trying to jump on her cat tree and kept falling because the cone, and it was just way too dangerous.
Sending many healing vines to him, so he could say byebye to the cone soon.

Thank you for your support with Lucy.

Re: 8/19 Cinco PMPS 174

Love the blues, Cinco. Paws crossed for your eye to heal quickly so you can get rid of the cone and stop those darn eye drops. You sure have an awesome bean, she takes such good care of you. :-D :-D

Re: 8/19 Cinco PMPS 174

Cinco may be grumpy, but he listened to his Auntie Wendy and gave me a blue PMPS! Now let's see where he goes from here.

He did not want to eat his dinner. Even with the FD Salmon on it, he only licked the top layer off. We had the cone off for t/f/s. When he refused to eat more, we put it back on. He sulked for a few minutes, then he wobbled and banged his way to the LB to leave me a nice, healthy symbol of his appreciation! :o  After that he went back and found his plate and tried to eat. I was so happy he wanted to eat that I picked it up and held it for him, and he cleaned it off, then wanted more, and more! I finally called a halt as I didn't want a scarf and barf. I guess he just needed to make room!

Sasha ate her dinner well, in two stages. I didn't hear back from Dr. P, so no AB tonight. She still had to get her Pred, though.

Molly, I'm sure Cinco appreciates the sentiment, but he's really not a cuddly cat. If you want cuddles, that would be Sasha's department. Cinco's more into chin scritches.

Tara    Love it! I did switch Cinco's vet-issued collar for one I got at Petco that's more adjustable, but still rigid. The one the vet gave him is so tight going over his big head, I'm sure it hurts. It's not as cute as yours, but I'll try to get a pic.

Hi Mariko! How lovely to hear from you. Yes, blue surf is good. His OV is wonderful and very thorough, but kind of strict, so I feel like a naughty schoolgirl when I take that collar off! :? Cinco also tries to back out of the collar when you first put it on. He does figure out that it doesn't come off that way, eventually.

DH just got up from his post-work nap. Time to get dinner rolling.

ETA: We cross-posted, Liz. Thanks for stopping by. There are three of us here who can't wait to get rid of some of those drops (several of them are life-long, I'm afraid). I can't tell you which of us wants it more!

Re: 8/19 Cinco PMPS 174 +3 49 +4 53 +4.5 52

Well, that was not what I expected. I know, flat blue should have warned me, but Cinco is uncomfortable, so I figured he'd be high, not deep into the lagoon. Let's hope he stays hungry.

Re: 8/19 Cinco PMPS 174 +3 49 +4 53 +4.5 52

Hey Cinco! I know you're blind, but are you deaf too! We told you we were making s'mores up here on shore...better hurry out of the lagoon or they're going to be all gone! ~ China

Sending vines for better pressures tomorrow Tricia. Poor boy....I can see why he'd be pretty unhappy in that thing!

Nice that it's cool enough to keep the better fitting outfit on Sasha too! We're entering the hottest days of this summer this week here! Heat indexes over 110+

Take care of your babies...with all of LL sending vines, I have confidence that everyone will be feeling better soon!

Surf on into shore now, Cinco! I can't guarantee they'll be any marshmallows left!

Looks like Cinco read his condo and saw MamaBean's displeasure with his flate yellow surf....wow on that dive into the lagoon! He's such a good boy with taking his drops...I'm sure he knows how much you love him and the drops help. We can all get fussy about about too much fussing at times! My Zen freaked out the way Lucy's Ginger did about the cone, too. He needed for an abscessed anal gland that ruptured, but it was hugely dangerous and we just couldn't do it. In fact, I could barely catch him to get the darned thing OFF his neck. I spent as much time as I could with him to make sure he didn't lick the wound....barely slept for days.

LOL on the "making room" comment. I say the same thing about our guys...when they come back from the box and look for fuds, I ask, "Did you make room for more?" I'm glad both he and Shasha ate well last night.

Sending tons of prayers the the pressure is fine today, and that the ulcer has healed even more.

Nice greens for Cinco last night. I hope his eye is better today. Sending prayers for Cinco and Sasha. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
