Hello FD Friends,

Was able to get Trixie into the vet on the weekend as she has not been herself for a bit and her appetite has decreased. They did a cysto and I asked for a fPL snap test as well just in case. Both came back normal, but her numbers are still high.

She had a decent am cycle yesterday, but up again overnight and today. Going to bump her back up to 2 units tonight and hope that helps. Will bring her back in for a full blood panel if no changes.

Wishes for all to have a happy Monday and that all kitties have a safe surf.

Aw, sweet girl. She's kind of reminding me of Jude with those weirdo higher numbers. I sure wish they could tell us where it hurts. Bring it down a little Trixie.

Did they check her teeth?
Hi Chris, they did. Only note was mild tartar. I know this doesn't mean that there isn't something going on under the gums that cannot be seen. Her mouth doesn't appear to be bother her. She's not moving food to only one side to eat which I have seen with 2 of my other kitties do. They both suffered from bad cases of tooth absorption and had the majority of their teeth removed.

Definitely something I will keep on my radar if things don't improve with her.

Thank you!

I know right?! Not sure what's going on. She was doing so good and so steady for so long and then fell off the rails. Hopefully the bump back up will get he down and stable with no limes.

In what way? How are the 5 P's (peeing, pooing, preening, playing, purring). They normal?

Good luck with the increase.
Hi Wendy, mostly her appetite, increased bg and energy level. Wouldn't say she's lethargic though. She has always been eager for her meals and would beat me to the kitchen at mealtime. Lately, I have to call her to come eat and she eats slowly and doesn't finish her main meals. She's also not eating all her snacks from her auto-feeder. Peeing and pooping are normal; she is preening and seeks out cuddles and purrs.

Are you tracking her weight at home?
I have not been, that is one thing I forgot to ask when I had her at the clinic this weekend. Will call and see if they noted down. Definitely something I can do going forward.

ETA - called the clinic and she was 7kgs. She was 6.86kgs in June

OK so sounds like lack of appetite may mean she's getting enough food. You know what her ideal weight should be?

I'd keep tracking her weight, to see if it's being impacted by her slowing interest in food.

She's a hefty beast for sure. When she was diagnosed, she was 5.86kgs, so she's gained quite a bit since then. I would say ideally, she should be around 5kgs. Really appreciate you checking in.
