Again, not as bad as I would have expected with no PM insulin shot. Still too high, of course. Mel, what do you think about my going with .25u BID instead of SID? Or do you think that's too much?

She's driving me insane with her not eating. "Good morning, Sunny! Would you like some Verus turkey?" No. Some Sheba chicken & tuna? No. Some Verus chicken? No. Some Weruva chicken? No. How about some Grreat Choice country dinner? YES! Om nom nom. But she would only eat about 1 oz of that. Gah. Guess I'm going to PetSmart at lunch to get more cans of Grreat Choice. Crazy cat.

With what I observed over the weekend, I suspect Sunny's continued high numbers are actually being caused by stress. Although she and my cat Lucky seem to be getting along better, he's still not happy to have her in "his" house, sitting in "his" spots. (I keep telling him that it's a huge house with plenty of other spots for him!) I've been catching him giving her the stare-down, which makes her flop over on her side in submission...but he still keeps staring and sometimes raises his paw like he's going to smack her. I've been intervening whenever I catch him, but I'm not home all the time. I could put her back in her isolation room, but I think that would make her even more unhappy. So maybe I just need to calculate stress into her insulin dose?

Let's try it. Stress like other drugs or health concerns may just have to be shot around if it can't be eliminated.

You know maybe she's just a cheap date like my bunch. Lol When Muse was first dxed I went through every "premium" brand of canned food. In unison they all turned up their collective noses. Tossed down a few cans of Friskies and it became a shark feeding frenzy. Lol Although I shouldn't complain its much easier on my wallet.

Okay, giving 0.25u BID a try starting tonight.

I sure don't mind that she likes the .45/can food! But she was eating the Verus reliably, which is why I bought more cans. We'll see how long she'll eat the Grreat Choice stuff. The funny thing is that I bought that stuff for the not-my-cats on days when I don't have enough leftovers to feed them. I'm too soft-hearted to turn them away without food, especially since I think their people must be feeding them dry food crap. At least the dry food I give Lucky and Zanzibar is high-quality!

hah. i know. i end up with 6 cans of food opened! good thing i have feral kitties that will eat any leftovers. sorry ur kitty is stressed. hope she settles down soon

Seriously! Thank goodness for the not-my-cats and the raccoons!!

I think Sunny will be stressed as long as she's in my house, unfortunately. If I only had Squeaker, I think she'd be fine, but Lucky and even Simon both upset her. She needs a great forever home that she can be the only cat in or maybe with one other, chill, cat.
