Yesterday, and the day before were.... NEW MOON day, and all the wonkiness that that brings... Numbers all over the place, nice dives and equally impressive bounces. :o :?      These past couple of days remind me of days of old when Mannie was so susceptible to the phases of the moon. :? :? I liked the AM cycle yesterday, despite his inner desire to dive, no doubt looking for mermaids in the green lagoon. It was great to see green, as it was great to see it the night before. GO MANNIE, and figuratively speaking: GO NEW MOON! It is great to see so much blue in his cycles, and less of "those colors" Well done Mannie! lubs ya lots big guy. cat_pet_icon So having said that: Mannie: What is up with that amps this morning?

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D I think he is grateful that we are beginning to cool down, and enter what is our Normal weather pattern: morning marine layer, temps in the 65/70/75 range. No more melting kitties.  Back to daily excursion into the yard, and deck lounging, and sleeping in his bed and the nanners. Poor nanners are tired of being dragged to the tiles too. On a humorous note: DGS decided yesterday that Mannie needed his attention late in the afternoon. so hugs were dispensed, head butts were dispensed (by DGS: he's pretty good at it), pets were given, a few feet pulls were attempted, several ear inspections were performed, until Mannie stood up, looked at Nicholas, MEOWED (!!), and took off down the hall, escape mode in full swing. What was so funny was that Nicholas followed him, caught up with him, and the scenario started out all over again. Poor Mannie.... it was on his face: "Kid: It's way too hot! Stop, please!" And then proceeded to lay down at his feet. :-D This morning we had a great test, feed, shoot and clean plate club (YAY), AND the auto feeder was ignored by Mannie, (again!) Elsa still thinks it has her name on it (as always)... so I am still running interception on the feeder.... Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. Today is catch up day - after I haul the troops off to the vet. ;-) ;-) Should be fun! let's hope they pass vetty. :-D

Hey everybody!!! ARRGGHHH!!!!! I gots to go to the vetty. I don't wanna.... they will poke and prod and squeeze and tickle and then want my bodily fluids. What is up with that! This will so be no fun for me, the Manster. Afterwards lets go to the ice cream place, ya know... help them make it and sample all we want. Ice cream cures everything - even vetty visits! We gots to promise not to get any cat hair in their vats though... You guys in? Maybe we can grill or sumthin' after that... See you guys! ~~ Mannie

Completely OT: Completely OT: Here are some photos from DGS and my adventures yesterday: swimming and a local creek. Weather was wonderful: sunny, blue skies, slight breeze and 75/80. A perfect day to be out near the water. I've also included the FaceBook link for anyone that wants to see all the photos and the videos: Swimming! and Coal Creek

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336

Morning Michelle and many thanks on the ~O) ~O) a necessity with us! What is up today Mannie with that AMPS! I bet he knows it's Vetty day as they can read what we're thinking! Mannie will come down, but no drama, Mannie! That is hilarious with the afternoon DGS headbutts and smothering Mannie with love and then again! Mannie is so cool with it, too, just love it. One of these days the camera will be handy. Good luck, Michelle, with getting them both into the carrier and car. That is the most difficult for me. Once Maggie is at Vet, she's fine. It's just that carrier and car ride. Hugs and scritches to Mannie and Elsa.

Mannie, oh no with the Vetty for you and Elsa. KTSS kitties will come and remove Vetty smell and take care of you and Elsa. I have some lovely rose scents I can use on both of you to remove the smell. Ice cream and hot dogs sounds good with the hot weather. See ya soon, Mags

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340

Good luck for the vet visits, Michelle - I hope Mannie and Else come through it with flying colours and get some nice treats to make up for the upset

Happy Caturday!
Jane

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340

340 @ +2. well. ok. BOUNCE day! I hope he clears this one soon - paws crossed!

Morning Jane - thanks!!! I hope so too. it usually goes OK - they are seasoned veterans!  We hope for good reports! Expect to hear : dental. oh well.... they will get treats when they get home, for sure!

Morning Ann! ~O) ~O) I wish I knew on the amps... a bounce I guess from all that craziness of the past couple of days. And yes he will come down, a for sure - and I am with you: no drama! He is such a master of the drama.... :? :? Yes, I had a good laugh over the Mannie/DGS session. Nicholas was so determined that Mannie should be tended too!  Thanks too on the vetty visit. Mannie takes them in stride: he hates going, but I rarely have any problem getting him there. Elsa is a whole different story. She will hide if she even sees the carrier. Careful planning required!  Thanks on the hugs and scritches - they will be dispensed. :-D

Maggie!! i know.... my beans says I gotta go..... I will try and be good there, but I dunno.... I may just let them have it, ya know? heeheehee. Thanks on the KTSS that would be so cool! I love rose... woo hoo! you are the best. Ok see you in a few. ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340

This is so funny Michelle! Your vetty day must be hands full! Your vet will not charge extra for the handling of difficult patients, right? Lucky it's a once a year checkup! Must be stressful to the kitties!

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307

307 @ 3.5. ugh, but at least he is coming down. :-D Off to eh vetty we go! WOO HOO!!

Hi Helen - Yes, vetty days can be a bit much. Hopefully today they will be good kitties. :-D and no... no extra charge!   ! Well - thy really like them so all is good.

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307

Lets see some good numbers from Mannie today. Maybe after the vet visit. Hope both are well. Michelle, thanks for visiting last night. Tesshad some nice blues, so didn't keep me up. Love the pics of DGS at the rivers and streams.

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307, +5 292 vetty day

292 @ +5, and post vetty visit. Not bad, not bad at all.

VETTY VISIT: Kitties did great! And were well behaved, for the most part. Both pee'd in their carriers, an improvement over letting the vet have it down their shirt front.  Elsa got her anal glands expressed :o  much to her dismay, and they were fairly clear, so many be that problem she was having with impacted ones is correcting itself. Then again, could be to because we have been diligent in keeping them clear. She could use a dental, but tings are OK enough to hold off until they run their dental special in Jan/Feb. At that time she will also have a senior "best health" panel done, by then she will be a 16.5 year old kitty, and probably would be a googood idea. For a kitty that has just tried turned 16 she is in really good health. YAY! Mannie did well too. I loved the vets comment:"you've done so well with him" she must have said that 4 times. :-D :-D He is good shape too, a little over with at 13.5 pounds, but I remember when he was 17 a few years ago, so this is a little better! We did a complete Blood Panel on him to see where he is at. The last panel done before all that xray/US stuff had some really out of whack numbers (due we believe to all that as going on with him at that time) and the vet wants to see if any have improved. I'm ok with that. He does need a dental - that I expected. I had planned on doing it anywyas, as I think he fairs better if his teeth are tended to once a year. We have had issue with them in the past (like two years ago - that was awful!), but 'm I'm better prepared to deal with it now. so.... dental on Tuesday for the Nanner King. :-D :-D All else seems to be going well with him. At this point in time we are still planning on doing a followup U/S, to cvhrvk check on what appeared to be some sort of growth on the liver) in a few months time.
(ETA: fixed the typos... sheshhhh.... )

Hi John! I hope so too on the good numbers - the vet visit didn't seem to set him off, he actually went down some. Hopefully that is the trend for today. Very nice on Tess letting you sleep! WOO HOO! Thanks too on the pics. That little guy loves these places - the smiles on his face say it all. He gets so excited when he gets out of the car and sees where he is. More often than not he can hear the river before he sees it - so off he runs in search of what he hears. way cool.

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307, +5 292 vetty vis

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307, +5 292 vetty vis

Hurray for a good vetty report and ugh on the dental, those are just no fun. Mannie is a pro though and all will go well! Zener and Mannie seem to like the stinky pinky, mellow yellow floors today. Bummer. ;-)

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +2 340, +3.5 307, +5 292 vetty vis

Wohoo on the good vetty report! It must feel pretty swell to get so many compliments from the vet regarding Mannie's health. He's so lucky to have such an awesome mama bean :-D

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +5 292, +9 349 vetty visit

349v @ +9. well bummer - back to the pinks. maybe I'll just hope this is his normal +10 spike, and that pmps will be good. paws crossed! :-D

Hi Anne - and Liz - Yupp!! Good vetty report! always a plus with "seniors" :-D I think so with Mannie - last one went really well, the one before I'll forget about.  And what is up with our boys??? Bleach on the inks....

Hi Tamara - thx! I did feel good. Mannie has had a few issues so it is nice to hear when they think we as caregivers have done a good job. YAY!! Thank you for the rest. :-D

Re: 8/18 Mannie AMPS 336, +5 292, +9 349 vetty visit

Hi Michelle, I'm doing a happy Caterday visit today. Nice to hear your two made out well at the vet today, and wow on a lower number after a vet visit. That doesn't happen here, much.

Looks like DGS is a little bigger then the last time I was on, and still so adorable!

Have a wonderful week!

Re: 8/18 Mannie PMPS 281

281 @ PMPS. YAY! Back to yellow! Better than pink..... ;-)

Hi barb - thanks for the visit!! I hope all is well with you and Daphne! yes, we did dow ella t the vet. For a couple of old-timers Mannie and Elsa did very well - good deal! Yupp: do you believe that: a lower BG number after a vetty visit. and yes ion DGS - he's growing like crazy, very mobile, vocal, active and just a ton of fun. Thanks - I hope so on the week. :-D :-D :-D

Re: 8/18 Mannie PMPS 281

Nice to hear that both the kitties did well at their vetty report. My previous girl cat Tach (GA) had anal gland issues for a while when she was Elsa's age but it seemed to go away after a couple of years of keeping on top of it. Paws crossed for the same for Elsa. Too bad about the dental for Mannie, but I guess that is expected every once in a while. Good that they can get him in fairly quickly to get his pearly whites done.

Mannie, good thing that you came to your senses with that PMPS number. Much better. Down from here now?

Re: 8/18 Mannie PMPS 281

HI Michelle. Wow, yesterday was fabulous. I didn't get to condos yesterday, and missed that great day. :-D
What a sweetheart Nicholas is. I'm wondering if he is always smiling, or do you have to take a hundred pix, to get a smile?
I say that, because my grandkids seem to scowl when the camera is pointed at them. :-D
So glad Mannie came down nicely for tonight. Yeah blue would be nicer but yeller is better than the *P* number. :-D

Re: 8/18 Mannie PMPS 281, +2 282

282 at +2. WOO HOO! no +2 food spike!

Hi Wendy - thanks! It was a good visit at the vet - YAY! Thanks for the info on Tach - I hope that is the case with Elsa. We've been dealing with it for about a year and a half, and things seem to going OK for her. Paws crossed!! yep on the dental... not my fav thing, but I expected to hear he needs one. At least we can get by for a year before having to do another dental. If only he'd let me brush his teeth.... and yes - it was nice that they could schedule him as soon as they did. Then I will have less time to worry about it.  and I so agree on PMPS tonight - i hope he finds the blues...

Hi Barb - thanks - it was a good one for him yesterday. loved the numbers, and today we bounce. oh well - he will be down soon enough. Nicholas does smiles alot. I don't always get smiles in the photos, but so is normal with kids. He's one happy little boy, one rarely sees him frown, unless he's really perturbed about something, or has to stop dong something he is really having fun with. - and I agree - YAY! down he did go, and I'm just glad the pinks are gone for now. :-D

Z!!!!! You did? The grotto? Cool buddy! I is trying, but seem to be stuck in this rut on the yellow brick road... time to change that! see you there... I hope.... ~ M
