Walter behaved himself for a change and stayed away from the sharks over night. However, I guess my body is so used to staying up that I still couldn't sleep.

Mandarin is showing no signs of coming down and is due for a dosecrease tonight. I also managed to test him for Ketones last night and he was negative. He seems to be feeling well in general... but, then again, he also acted totally fine with an infected mouth and five teeth that needed to be removed - so I guess he's just very good at hiding pain. :blackeye:

I am hopeful that I will finally get the results from Iris's swabs today. She is still congested and it's been six days since they sent out the samples. I talked to her vet yesterday and IDEXX promised her results today. Fingers crossed that that will actually happen and that we can figure out a course of action for her.

I am off for my regular volunteer shift. At least it looks like I won't have to worry about Walt dropping too low for a change... but I left out extra food just to be safe.

Oh dear Mandarin please start working the juice soon buddy...you'll feel better. Glad Walter behaved even though you still didn't sleep. Worry and exhaustion will do that. Hope you get Iris's labs back and there is an easy fix for the little one.

I hope you get Iris' results today! Waiting is so difficult! :bighug:

Mandarin, it's time to work the juice buddy!

I hope you sleep better tonight.

Nice work, Walt!!! Heading back down already without giving me a heart attack - you should try that more often.

...and still nothing from the vet. If I don't hear anything by 3 pm, I'll give her a call and see what's going on.

Mandarin, I am glad your ketone check was negative. There is a dosecrease warning so if you want to dodge the increase.......you know what to do.

Glad that Walter eased up on you last night. I know what you mean about not being able to sleep when you can.....sometimes I wish I were a man, they sleep so much better than us women.

Good luck with the results for Iris. Hope it is a good report and sometime easily fixed.

Ugh that you haven't gotten results for Iris yet. Paws crossed they come in today.

Walter, good work on working the juice! Just enough, not too much. Mandarin, mama bean has ITF. Work it buddy, work it.

I finally slept for 2 hours and watched mindless TV for the rest of the afternoon. It was wonderful! :)

Walter pulled off another pretty spectacular cycle and spent most of the afternoon in the lagoon. And Mandarin, well, let's just say that he earned his dosecrease. :blackeye:

I also finally heard from our shelter vet: Iris tested positive for Calici. I just can't believe that the vet put the poor little girl through 5 (yes, in words: FIVE) different rounds of antibiotics when she had a viral infection all along. Sigh. Not sure what the next step is. When Sparrow came down with Calici as a kitten, I ended up adopting her because I was so frustrated with the care she was getting. Apparently, from a shelter medicine standpoint, Calici is a common virus, occurs in about 1/4 of all shelter cats, but rarely causes symptoms. So, in other words, it's not a concern. But Iris is miserable. I hope there will be some sort of a game plan by tomorrow.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I am glad you got the report back on Iris. I hope you can put together a plan that will help her.

Please work the dosecrease Mandarin.

Hopefully now that you have a diagnosis for Iris the vet has a plan of action!
Mandarin show your mama bean how you can work that dosecrease!
Walter....nice numbers today!

Wishing for the best treatment for Iris now that you have a proper diagnosis.
Work that new juice, Mandarin.
Surf along, Walter!
Don't forget the full moon party tonight!

Good luck with Iris and a treatment plan. I think that as time goes on the symptoms become less severe and then periodic flare ups. Forrest has herpes or calici and without the swab test we don't know exactly which one ( sometimes they are present together ) and his has gotten less and less severe over the years. He has a running eye and will some times have cold like symptoms for a few day with sneezing and wheezing . Hope that symptoms will lessen for Iris.

Lots of vines for little Iris. Certainly hope the vet will come up with a supportive plan to help with her symptoms. Darn virus.

C'mon Mandarin, work the juice. Down, boy. Down.
