Happy Caterday LL!

I wanted to give an update after the Adequan/BG question on 8/15. Thank you again to all who came to my rescue. I think Daphne's numbers may be coming down now, (anti-jinx). I got some of her almost normal numbers yesterday and today so far. If my nerves can take it, I want to give her the rest of this 4 week dose. I still need to get a blood work on her because of the low platelets.

OT, after 30 years of pain, and fatigue and other symptoms, I finally was going to give up in finding any real relief and/or cure for my illness (Fibromyalgia), but I figured since Daphne was OTJ, and I had a little more free time, I would at least see if anything new came along in the years that I stopped researching, (I gave up for the last 10 years), anyway, I always knew that my symptoms were a lot like Thyroid issues and I always asked the DRs. to give me the test, and they did, but only a test for T3/T4…long story, I knew there were more test out their for a better dx, but they never did them. Well, I finally got a Dr. to listen to me, and lo and behold, the test I requested was finally done, its called TPOab, and mine was very high, it's an antibody test… too complicated to go into it here, but, end of story is, I have an autoimmune condition that is attacking my thyroid. So FYI, to all the women (its almost always found with women) out there who may be tired, fatigued, always cold, or always hot, weight problems either too heavy or too thin, cognitive issues, fast heart rate, and many more… If you have these symptoms and your T3 and T4 come back OK, but you still feel bad, ask for this test next time you go in. So anyway, this is what I've been up to since Daphne went OTJ. You would think I would have maybe taken a vacation to an exotic island, or maybe lunch with friends, but no, not me, I just love doing medical research instead!

Have a great day LL! I hope I can visit today. I'm on the deck with Daphne, and have my laptop, so I will see you all soon.

Sending healing vines to all the kitties and beans who need them today.

I'm glad Daphne's numbers are getting back to where they belong.

I'm also hoping that there's something you can do now that you know what's going on with your health. Is this Hashimoto's?

Hi Sienne,

I haven't gone to the endocrinologist yet, just got my blood work back and talked with my primary. Since she is no expert on this, I will see the endo. dr. in a few weeks. I have been reading up on it though, and I think it can either be Hashimoto or Graves, more evidence though for the Hashi.

I'll let you know when I find out though, thanks for asking.

Woohoo!!! Great news for you and for Daphne! :-D :-D :-D :-D You just about have to be your own doctor and vet. I hope they can figure out something so that you feel better.
Liz

Hi Barb, glad to hear Daphne's numbers are back in the clear. I'm so glad you found a doctor that would listen to you and ordered the tests. Sending lots of healing vines for you and keep us updated.

I'm so glad to hear Daphne's numbers are looking better!!

Good luck with getting the thyroid issues squared away. I know I'm acutely aware of the possibility since my Mom does have Graves, and my SIL has an underactive thyroid (I'm not sure if she has one of the autoimmune diseases or not, but I know it took a while for them to diagnose her.). It's a shame that you have to tell docs which tests to run these days...

I'm glad to hear that Daphne's numbers are staying in a good range. It's great that you finally got a dx so you can get on an appropriate treatment plan to start the healing process. Sending big hugs to you Barb! I hope you can start feeling better soon.

Thanks for visiting today Liz, Amy, Ann, and Tamara!

I just got an 81 for her +3, so I'm glad to see that, first lower number since her Adequan. So now I know it takes about 3 days to go out of her system, and next time, I won't panic as much. Well, I know me, and yes, I will still panic, but a little less anyway.

And yup, Liz,
You just about have to be your own doctor and vet.
for sure.
And yes, again Amy,
It's a shame that you have to tell docs which tests to run these days…

A good friend of mine was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about a year ago. I'm hypothyroid so we're both taking Synthroid. It takes a while to get the dose right but you'll feel better once you're on thyroid replacement.

Hi ((((Barb)))),

I'm glad to hear that Daphne is doing better and also to hear that you may finally get a handle on your own health issue. Knowledge is power, as they say. Thanks for visiting us today while we were absent. You sound so much better than you did the other day. We are keeping those vines heading your way.

Big Hugs :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Barb,

I'm glad Daphne came down again. Now you can relax about that.

I have Hashimoto's disease among my autoimmune diseases. The thyroid is very easy to treat. I take a pill for my slow thyroid everyday and I have to treat the other symptoms symptomatically as I can. It will be good for you to know for sure so you can treat it. The thyroid medicine makes a lot of difference in how you feel.

I would have panicked too Barb!

So awesome you now have a proper diagnosis - even if you had to sort it out for yourself!

Thank you Sienne

I have a feeling I'm not going to be the easiest person to treat, I have such a mix of symptoms, some point to Graves and some to Hash. and I read I can have Hypo one day and Hyper the next because of the complications within my system. I sure hope it will end up with just a pill, but after 30 years, I don't want to get my hopes up.

Thanks Ella, I do feel better, for Daphne and for myself, just knowing something specific for my own health makes me feel better, even though it may be a while till its figured all out.

, yes that is going to be a problem with me, I have been reading that the TPOab can be related to something other then the thyroid, and so I'm kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop. I just have so many, many symptoms, one pill, I WISH will do it, but I just don't know at this point.

I will try to keep a positive attitude through it all. Thank goodness, I have Daphne doing well, so I don't have to deal with all the testing and treatment for myself, while doing what I have the past 9 months w/ Daph. If Daphne was still FD active, I would not have even taken on my own health.

It's 1 am and I'm still awake, I was till 5:30 last night, so thats a Hyper thing going on now.

I have to say, I was looking forward to "giving back". That is important to me. (chronic illness makes you feel like you suck a lot out of the universe, so I try to keep it even most of the time), but please know, I did start some behind the scenes as much as possible for now, I just can't give a lot of physical time because of the pain.

Thanks again LL, the most wonderful group of people I will ever know.
:YMHUG:

Oh, hi Vyktors mum! Almost missed you. (post crossed in the air) How are you doing?
