Good morning, LL!
Yesterday
Wow, that 34 got my attention this morning! He still had food left over from yesterday, but I think he won't eat it after it's been out for 3 hours or so. Time to invest in a timed feeder I suppose!
Otherwise he seems to be doing great, currently trying to stake out his spot on my lap :-D
Should I still be concerned about low BG#'s like 34? is there still a chance of hypo with no insulin?
Hope everybody has a great day!

Hi Emily and Mr Howell. This is my first time visiting your condo and I want to welcome you to LL. I don't feel confident giving dosing advice to others but I can answer your question: There is NO danger of a hypo if insulin hasn't been given. I love how fluffy Mr Howell is, he reminds me of a kitty that I once had. Have a good day and don't worry about the hypo. Glad to have a chance to visit.

Thank you! I only ask because my DBF sometimes suffers from bouts of hypoglycemia, but is a non-diabetic. Usually it means he needs to eat a snack but he has lost consciousness when it catches him off guard. I think it's a little more in a cat's nature to not skip meals to prevent that sort of thing from happening, I suppose.
Have a great day!

good morning emily! seconding what bev said - no danger for mr howell. maybe give him a little food, but no danger.

so awesome to see him doing well on the trial. i suspect you need him off of insulin more than he needs it! how's the new job going?

Awesome, Mr. Howell! It could be that his normal BG ranges on the lower side of normal for a cat. Bandit's normal BG ranges on the higher side of normal. He'll sometimes give me numbers in the 130s or 140s, which aren't diabetic numbers for him, even if they might be high for another cat. So same thing with Mr. Howell--if Bandit all of a sudden gave me a 34 off insulin I would just about die, but these lower numbers seem to be normal for Mr. Howell.

He's doing so great! What a nice convenience for him to go otj right when you're starting work!

Thank you everyone! I am so grateful for everybody here. It amazes me what a little bit of a diet change can do for my lovable kitty's health. :-D It's taken less than a month! I couldn't be more pleased.
Julie, thanks, the new job is alright! I'm cashiering again, nothing super glamorous, but I can't complain! You are right about me needing this maybe more than Mr. H -- the DBF is leaving tomorrow and going to be gone for a week+, and I'll be working 10-hour shifts, so nobody to be home and test Mr. H's curve. It couldn't have happened at a better time.

Julia, that's good to know. I guess I'm still in 'hypo-paranoid' mode after a few of those sleepless nights. @-)

Hope everybody has a lovely afternoon!

GO, HOWELL-BABY...GO!
