I lost two friends yesterday... and I am very sad. I will miss you both. I want to remember them today, remember what wonderful caring special friends you were. Beethoven may you travel to the bridge landing softly, find all those you know who have gone before you, remember with fondness your bean who loves you. Sara may you follow the lights of all the candles we have lit for you, and Beethoven, so that you may travel on your way on your golden wings safely, peacefully, softly. May you too remember your bean who loves you, misses you more than she can say. Watch over us, remember us. You will be forever in our hearts... ~~ Mannie

I am not too sure what to say about yesterday confused_cat - we continue to get a rather high spike around +10/11, only in the AM cycle, and I am unsure what to make of it.... It's frustrating, disheartening, and requires more patience than I thought I had. :roll: :YMSIGH: We had great cycles on 8/13, making green in both of them after a dose reduction a couple of days before. It's perplexing.... We will give this dose a few more cycles, as I know Mannie takes time, needs time, to process any dose changes. ;-) If he continues to post these level of numbers, I will go back to the dose he held for nearly 4 months. We shall see how it goes. Mannie - dude - you are one interesting and challenging kitty - I lubs ya, and wouldn't have it any other way. cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand.... DD,DSIL, and DGS stopped by for a short visit last night. DSIL knows the anners, and Mannie's sense of ownership. This was just too funny: DSIL goes and sits by Mannie, who is on top of the pile, watching us all. DSIL asks Mannie "can I borrow one of these?" , as he slowly picks up one of the nanners, moving it away from the pile.... Mannie looks at DSIL then the nanner, back to DSIL, and promptly, but gently, bats the nanner out of DSIL's hand :shock: , while slowly rising to all fours ... and answers very politely: "MEOW!!!", which loosely translated means: "not on your life!" DSIL put the nanner back in the pile. Better not mess with the Nanner's Kings stash, the security system is brutal. :lol: :lol: :lol: . It is so fun and interesting that DGS can share Mannie's stuff, but the rest of us?: NO WAY! :lol: :razz: :razz: We had a great test feed shoot this AM, greeted with never ending purrs... what a good kitty! Breffis was inhaled, with gusto, clean plate club status maintained. And no civvie whacking, at least so far today. :shock: :shock: The kitty choir was down to one member this morning :? , BJ, while the other two elected to let her carry the load. :lol: :lol: Mannie and Elsa were by their bowls.... waiting.... Normalcy in MannieLand, life is good.

Today we are back on DGS sitting duties through Friday... As it is every week, I really hope I can visit condos, but know that in reality it is next to impossible. Do know though that I am thinking of you all, and your furkids. Think GREEN kitties. I hope that maybe Mannie will give DGS and I a permission slip this morning so that we can go on a short travel hike. Paws crossed!!

Kitties!!! What a day yesterday, I had such fun skydiving, and hang gliding, and sailing. WOOT! We were so busy!!!! What shall we do today? I was thinking... maybe a beach picnic. Maybe we can take a minute of two and remember our friends Beethoven and Sara. I think that hey would like that. It would be good to be with friends today, share some good times, grill some fuds. :lol: Very lovely story this morning, Michelle! I love those Mannie stories that you tell. They're just too darned adorable.

I know all too well the patience thing. Blackie is the same as Mannie in that respect... Always taking her time with everything, whether it's a dose increase or decrease, and the fuds. Hopefully he'll come down for a bit today. He's showing a very lovely # this morning, though. Have a great day!

What is up Mannie? Did you just need a little break yesterday Mannie? That's ok, but it's time to get back to business.

So cute with DSIL and Mannie. "Not on your life buddy. Step away from the nanners." :lol: :lol: :lol: DGS has special privileges, as it should be.

Poor BJ always having to carry the kitty choir load. She is a good sport though and does it with grace.

Hope Mannie decides to let you go out for awhile today and you have a great time with DGS. He is such a complete doll and seems to love his time with you. You are a very lucky grandma! Have a great day Michelle!

Hi Michelle,

Those spikes are preplexing to say the least! HAve you tried a little bite of LC food or just plain chicken around +9....maybe give the pancreas a little something to work on? With Zoe, her AMPS numbers have been much better if she eats a little bit of LC food @ +9....seems like she needs that. If she doesn't eat it, her AMPS numbers seem to be higher. Just a thought. ;-)

Hey Mannie.....that was a beautiful tribute to our friends, Beethoven and Sara. You said it all perfectly. I had fun skydiving yesteday....I liked touching the clouds! Today, I'm ready to just hang out with my friends...wherever. Zoe

Hi Michelle, I know it must be frustrating with the rise at the end of the AMPS! I'd give it some more cycles as you said, but I'm no expert. So funny with Mannie and DSIL and the nanner. We need a video! It would be such a crack up!

I think you are right that he just needs a little time to settle in here....look at him come down already by +3.

I love Mannie nanner stories....that's a great one with DSIL :lol: :lol: :lol: And also BJ....she's the anchor there for the kitty choir. I do believe Elsa and Mannie would starve without BJ to wake you up.

Beautiful memorial for sweet Sara and Beethoven.....so sad and tragic.

good mannie report! the thing is that the adults should already KNOW that the nanners are off-limits. babies are allowed to not know - and i swear even cats and dogs know a baby and tolerate from them what they would never tolerate from an adult.

Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting Mannie today while I cared for DGS, and took him on a travel hike to a mountain lake. We had such a great time! This little is becoming quite the seasoned hiker. not too bad for a 7 month old. :lol: I hope to have some photos to post tomorrow. It was a short hike - I think we barely did 2 miles, but the lake was so so pretty. Dgs is so taken back by them, that I try and find the water hikes for him - he simply cannot get enough when we are there. Which is funny in a way - as I have to feed him when we get there, and it takes forever.... he is alwyas so busy looking at everything that he forgets to eat. :lol: :lol:

Hi Nicole - thanks for the visit. I hope all is well with baby - we miss you around here... And yes - overall he really has come down. I am beginning to think that he just needs time to settle into this new dose. he had been n the old one for close to 4 months. we had a great cycle today. so.... maybe.

Hi Angela - hey thanks on the story - that one was darn funny... Thanks on the patience stuff. It took me a while to realize that is hat works for Mannie - if I rush things it just causes problems. so.... hopefully by waiting this out he will come down on his own. Looks like he did this afternoon. YAY!!!!

Hi Melissa - too funny with dsil, yes!! the message was loud and clear. the fact the Mannie does share with DGS just affirms that I really believe they will be best buds. :lol: :lol: :lol: on BJ - I think she just wants to eat, and is very inpatient. the others know that, let her do all the work... :lol: :lol: and thanks on DGS - Mannie did let us go, and we had a nice time - a mountain lake hike - perfect for him.

I wasn't home today to do a +9, but had DH do a +6... substitution for chicken that he usually gets. so, we were down when I got home... still trying to decide the cause of the spikes. heck - it was probably Mannie just messin' with me. :lol: :lol: i also think that knowing Mannie he just needs a little time, and things will even out.

Hi Ann, and Miss Maggie - hey - thanks... i just wanted them to know that we do care. such a sad day yesterday was... I think you are right - he did come down today - patience! the only change I made was a new pen last night but I really don't think that was the solution, and I fed an LC at +6, rather than chicken that he usually eats all the time anyways... so... patience wins, I think! -- and I know on the videos!! I must get one!!

I did switch out the chicken, but he eats that stuff all the time, so I really don;t think it was the culprit - just needed time to settle in. -- and SO TRUE on the others starving if BJ didn't get me up every morning... Hi Julie - oh so true - what a great perspective! I like the thought - Mannie is indeed very tolerant of DGS. I wish I had the camera so I could have done a video. I think I will just have tot start leaving the camera out... and yep - we did a nice short mountain lake hike - very pretty, with a monster service road to get there. :lol: But it was fun!
