Well, we got through the night - maybe she better than I? She toddled downstairs with me this morning, looking a lot brighter. Have a call into the Internal Medicine specialist - I believe her urine culture is back and I also stopped her Clavamox antibiotic this morning as I think she was not tolerating it well - possibly what she was so ill last night?

BOS!!! I upped her to 2U this morning - got to get these numbers down! Will discuss "R" insulin on my phone consult this morning...... will update my post as soon as I know anything. Also due to go for SubQ fluids this afternoon.

Exhausted before I even start the day!

I'm so glad to hear Tashie is looking a whole lot brighter. Hopefully you'll get some good answer from the vetty about meds and R...I know how concerning the HIs are. My civvie, Petey, cannot tolerate Clavamox. He had it last January; a few hours after his first dose, he looked awful, and after his second dose, he wouldn't eat for anything in the world. About 12 hours after discontinuing it, he was much better. It seems a lot of kitties have trouble with that AB, so hopefully you'll find an alternative that will do the trick without making Tashie feel so bad.

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: ..that Tashie is a fighter!! Try and get yourself some rest, Bern.

I'm so happy that Tashie is feeling better this morning. I hope you have a good consult with the vet. It's really hard on the momma beans when our kitties aren't feeling well. Please take care of yourself too. Lots of (((hugs))) for you and Tashie :YMHUG:

Hi, (((Bern))),
I've been thinking about you and (((Tashie))) and sending good, healing, positive thoughts.
I'm so glad she's looking brighter today. That's excellent news.
Good luck with the consult today with the IM.
Take care of yourself.

Sorry I posted in the wrong date condo. I was wondering if the voice issue is a furball. Tiggy goes quiet squeaks and raspy and eats less when he has a furball in process ...Put a dab of vaseline on her paw to lick off to see if it will help. Wont do any harm.

Bern, I urge you to give strong consideration to starting R today. If there is another health issue going on, we can't make that go away, but if we can get her numbers down that should at least make her feel better and hopefully help keep the ketones away.

Hi Bern,
Thinking of you and Tashie this morning and hoping that she will continue to feel better. None of our cats have tolerated clavamox very well. I think it just makes them feel awful. I hope that you will try the R bolus insulin today. Libby and Jill are experts in its use and they will help you with it every step of the way.

Sending all sorts of "feel-better" vines, hugs, and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Bern,

Clavamox made my GA kitty very sick too. I will always be afraid to use it again. Hope Tashie is feeling better today.

Thinking of you~

Hi Bern,
I am so glad that Tashie is looking a lot brighter today!
Great news!!!!!
Sending lots of healing vines to both of you.
I hope you'll have a good consultation with the specialist today.

I am so happy to read that you both are a little brighter today!!!

I will also add that the Clavamox is very hard on some cats. Tom was sick like no other after a week of that stuff. Vet told me to discontinue for 2 days and then start back up.....nope. I didn't do it. I got Orbax instead, which he tolerated fine.

I am so sorry that you can't get a definitive answer about what is going on with your sweet girl.....so frustrating and so scary I am sure.

Good luck today....hopefully more answers and an even brighter girl!!

Waiting for your update.......

Fingers crossed that she starts to work her juice....whatever type or types she gets!

Hi there. Checking in on Tashie. Hope she is feeling g better and eating sans clavamox. It makes Izzy nauseas and go off her food too. As much as I hate pilling we use Zenequin normally.
