Yesterday's Smooth Ride

At 7:10am Rufus was tested at 216. I'm looking forward to a +3.

WCR: Who's a good boy? Rufus is a good boy! He watched the neighborhood from the window seat for a little while, and is now sitting up in Tess' (the Testing Chair!), looking alert and pretty. Will spam update as the day progresses.

The Case Of The Purloined Lancet Caps​
When I switch lancets I always place the cap on the table beside the chair where Rufus and I like (*cough*... well, I like it, anyway) to test. The past four times I've gone to change out a used lancet the cap is has been missing. Lancet Cap Gnomes? (I have a feeling that if I move the chair I'll find them there, but it's heavy and if I drag it the floor will scrape so... missing lancet caps for now. How weird). Maybe some day soon I'll wake up to find Rufus down in his chair stringing together little beige discs into a new jewelry set.

Hate that when things disappear like that...but it happens to me more times than normal I think. Has to be a logical explanation.
That is a pretty low yellow for Rufus this morning...guess he let you test him okay...hope you guys have a good day searching for the missing lancet caps...good luck Sherlock! :lol:

Thanks! We surely will have a good day. Lots of sunbathing, people watching, napping, and dog teasing ahead (wait for big strong men to come over to search for those caps, lol). We might even swat around a few cotton balls while we manifest Good Numbers. I hope it's just as productive for everybody else, too. :lol:

As for that number - I thought so, too. I was hoping for just a moderate decrease from yesterday's steady hold but an AMPS 216 is a good distance from that. I can't tell whether this will be a good thing or a *sigh* thing. I'm still SO unsure about dosing. But we shall not be discouraged (for any more than two minutes... at a time). We shall simply put on our Big Girl Panties and ride out the wonkiness. :lol:

Didn't get a +3, but rather, both sides of it.

As for the numbers themselves. I was considering doing a curve today, but after the other night (14 BG tests. Ack), I don't want to stress him. I'll get a +6, and if the number is nice, I'll only get a PMPS and bedtime test after that.

+2.1 (257) Prompted by seeing Rufus drinking a lot of water. I wanted to see what his BG looked like at that time, and sure enough - it had shot up a little. However...
+4.3 (196) Rufus spent time napping, but is now up and looking around for something to do - he's considering watching the neighborhood. Still not a kitten, but more activity than yesterday's sulking. (He settled on getting some shuteye on the window seat, cuddling his favorite plastic bag. Well... he is a cat.)

At +6.1 Rufus was 178. Comfy.

WCR: Rufus has been hiding lately. He likes a little cubby space in one of the bedroom closets and he'll stay there for a long while, but he'll come out for treats. Being super cooperative little boy cat at testing time -that has to have something to do with my newly acquired poking skills. I haven't heard him take a trip to the litter box - wondering about that a little. No Rufus-style silliness observed, but I can wait.

Human needs nap. Other humans can tell? @-)

At +11 he's 222. He came downstairs, anticipating dinner (he still hasn't gotten used to eating at 7pm and not "whenever granmudder gets home"), and was disappointed to find me waiting with a cotton ball in one hand and a lancing pen in the other. We had a great first poke, but he shook his head. :YMSIGH: So I had to get another. I'll get a PMPS (or lose an appendage trying) and a lullaby poke with good luck. Sometimes he's so good, and sometimes he's just a booger.

WCR Update: he's alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic (about having dinner). Not many Ps accounted for tonight. :-| Not much else to report.
 
Rufus had a nasty cat fight with Tiger, the neighbor cat, through the window. He was so upset he was panting heavily for a minute. It took him a little while, but he did eventually wind down. He's now resting on the floor, breathing normally. Poor guy.
What a boring day. But things in Rufus' life that are "exciting" are rarely good things, lol.

Let's see how he feels about... FOOD TIME!
