Seems a little better today moving a little faster. Eating good. Hubby and I were just talking about she is just going through the motions and how much more. We are giving the canna a couple of weeks. Thinking we don't want to keep her here with the QOL she has now. She sleeps at the water bowl under the prayer table. She barely comes out to go to potty. I think we are doing it for us. She still enjoys eating, but hardly preening and haven't heard a purr for a week and it was months before that. She no longer plays or even looks at a toy when moved across floor. She wants to be with me but it's short lived. God this is hard. We can take her to vet to check her shoulder with xrays. I believe the last ditch effort involves steroids. She still walks very slowly and even lays down even slower. :( then today she's moving a little faster and giving me kisses. Does she know what we discussed is she telling me yes it's time or no momma, I'll get better.

Angela,
I looked thru a couple of past condos but I haven't seen anything on why or what for the canna was. For the pain? Or as appy stimulant?

I used to use CBD related remedy for my insomnia and I think on at the least several occasions I behaved like your description of Miss Phoebes above...

For her pain. She is on the canna, bupe, and gabapentin for pain. I'm sure it's all giving her sleepiness. But without it she is in pain. But is it fair to just let her spend the rest of her days sleeping with no excitement and very little joy. I know what your saying. I wish that was all it was. She doesn't seem more sleepy with the canna. Haven't noticed anything different really. She's still the same, which is the dilemma. :( just wish there was a clear answer. I haven't seen the "look". I don't think. But it's hard to know what I see sometimes.

It is hard, Angela, very hard..

I pray that the Universe love and compassion will never abandon you and your heart will know the answer without a doubt when it is the time

Could the pain meds give something like a vertigo or a cat version of the room makes them dizzy?

Some pain meds can make me not get off the floor, literally. I don't remember what I took, but I was on the floor, eyes closed for three days. Every time I opened my eyes, the room started to swirl. I had to crawl or slither to move. Then, only when extremely necessary.

If you cover her eyes does her body relax a little? Would she let you put a pillow case or light weight towel over here eyes?

Could the pain meds give her a headache?

Many smooches to Phoebes. I hope she feels perkier soon. Can you track a medicine addition on your spreadsheet notes to see if that may affect her? Lantus made my cat feel like icky, like clock work. Maybe a medicine or mix of meds makes her feel poorly?

Smooches, headbumps and pet to you Phoebes. Feel better soon

Same thing happens to me, plus extreme nausea. Bleah.

Not saying that's what's going on with Phoebe, just that it's hard to know how different bodies react to different meds. I'm glad she's moving a little better today, maybe that's a good sign.

You will know when it's time. It is always so, so hard. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you everyone. I am sure it could be all those things and none of them, you know. Cats. Animals it's so hard to guess. What if I'm wrong? I hope I will know and make the right decision. I know better a moment to soon than a moment to long. That poem that is on here "we decide to cry" or something to that affect. We do take these babies on, knowing it is going to break our souls right in two. But it's worth every tear. Every one.
