I'm looking at the food chart as far as calories fat carbs and phosphorus. So judging from dr. Lisa's good advice it's zero down to Tiki cat, Weruva and Iams. Now I've been reading that it's not good to give them fish but a lot of these Tiki cat varieties are all fish. However I've heard no one mentioned anything about the Iams which seem to be consistent with the levels considered decent to feed. Also wondering why some of them are listed as having zero carbs all the way down the row, for all flavors. I'm wondering if it's really zero carbs in these Foods is it not good to give them any carbs at all it's confusing any help is appreciated

A lot of Tiki is fish but not all. I feed Tiki Cat Puka Puka Luau and Koolina Luau (you might have read Dr. Pierson favorable mentioning of both) which are pure white chicken meats.

A while ago asked the Tiki Cat HQ about certain line that's been discontinued and received this reply: "I received your message through our Tiki site and will help in any way I can. Our Gourmet Carnivore line was discontinued and replaced with the new After Dark line. It is very similar, but they are all chicken based. There is a Chicken & Beef or Chicken & Lamb option. I have attached a catalog to show the newer line. I hope this helps"

There is no P or carbs value listed I didn't get a chance to contact them again. This line is not sold at my local pet store where I get the Puka and Koolina...

I attached the current After Dark Line of Tiki Cat product catalog.

I am not sure if it is P low or carbs acceptable but since it has lamb, pork and beef in I think I should tag two people I think might be interested in that line. @Adrian and Chino , @LizzieInTexas .

I hope it'll give you more feeding options, Karen!

Hey thanks so much. I was just on Petco's website and found the tiki brand and the after dark.. funny you mentioned that! I was going to get the one you mentioned with the chicken. But I also saw Iams and thought that composition looked good. Any thoughts? I am feeding Fancy Feast and Friskies and didn't realize how high the phosphorus count really was, so I'd like to get something a little more appropriate with regards to phosphorus content

I've been feeding the Tiki Puka and the Koolina since April and very satisfied with both. Occasionally - Tiki Wild Salmon.

My cat likes FF Liver and Chicken Pate but I try to give it to her only when the money is tight as liver in the cat's diet should not exceed 1/5 of the total ratio. I use Friskies Pate - high-ish carbs/ HIGH P for my girls when her BG numbers are lowering.

But you are right both the FF and Friskies are high in P. The best food with respect to low P content is home made raw or semi raw. Have you read Dr. Pierson's? Here is the link.

I never used Iams so I do not know. I might be mistaken but I think at the moment that Iams products were compromised somehow, I cannot remember the details... If you get a chance search this entire site for "Iams" - I bet there was something bad posted about its products a while ago.. Again, I might be mistaken!

I shop by Dr. Lisa chart - and I couldn't find any lower P content than in the Tiki Cat so far (at least available in So California).
