Looks like Susie has moved into Luci-land - that's the land of yellow bookends...

I sure hope you can figure it out...looks like she's hitting good numbers mid-cycle. Hope the meal management helps!

She is doing better with her PMPS but it is those nasty high AMPS that I usually get. I am wondering if feeding her a small meal later at night will help reduce her AMPS. Instead of a +2 and +4 I will try a +2 and +5 or +6 for a while and see if I see any difference. She goes a long time between +4 and AMPS and maybe her little body is trying to compensate. Luci had a nice AMPS this morning. How is your husband recovering from the hip surgery?

Summer, you're making great progress with Susie! Your spreadsheet has more green and blue than I saw before I left-- you're doing so great! Keep going, mama. Hope you're well. :bighug:
It is great to hear from you, Emily! Susie likes this dose but I wish her blues were lower and some of her greens higher. I am actually pretty comfortable with this except for the yellows and sometimes she bounces into pinks. Would like to someday get to remission but in order to do that you need the reductions and the bouncing to stop. She just isn't there but maybe someday.

How about you? Zen still looks good in his remission. I hope you and your husband got that vacation you talked about. I am fine. Trying to navigate this darn COVID nightmare. I thought we were slowly coming out of the woods but I sure was wrong. It is so sad to be afraid to go anywhere. Thank you for stopping in to see me and I appreciate your encouragement - as always. Take care and give your sweet, little, good boy Zen a scratch for me! :cat:

He's coming along nicely! Still taking it easy - not up to walking long distances, but doing ok otherwise.

That AMPS is one of the hardest numbers (over the long run) to whip into shape. It seems that the insulin just loses duration overnight...I mean it is a long time that the pm shot has to carry the ball so to speak...and when it wears out, it's out...hence the higher number in the morning.

You're doing a great job with her and every day that she gets back to the lagoon is a healing day - so you've got a lot of those on that SS...just keep doing what you're doing and give that pancreas time to heal...I know we'd all like for that to hurry up and happen...but it's got it's own plans about how fast it can replace those beta cells...

Hang in there!

Hi Summer. Hope your day is going well. Hope your mom is continuing to have a better appetite. Nice beautiful blues for sweet Susie. Hope changing her feeding time to later continues to improve her AMPS. I felt that feeding Dolly at +9 improved her morning pre shot but it’s 4 in the morning :arghh:, she won’t eat from her auto feeder and lately she just isn’t interested. Hope Susie continues on her blue path :cat: today and you all have a great rest of the day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Girl, same. I got a new job and Covid is preventing me from meeting my team, which is a real bummer. But we're good! Vacation was a little bit of an interesting dance-- Zen is doing great, but Queso came down with a bad bout of pancreatitis after we tried to switch her to Young Again food. Not the manufacturer's fault-- she's always struggled with IBD and we should have trusted our (and her :p) gut that it would be too much of a shock to her system. So, we got her to the other side of that and she's doing extremely well on Hill's i/d Biome. It meant that we had to change vacation plans so that one of us was home everyday, so we did a little shuffle where Tim went to Maine, and then I went to see my best friend in DC, and then when we both got home, we did day trips. Was super fun, actually...I learned to surf!

I'm glad you've found a dose you and Susie are largely comfortable with-- I hope that means you can get some well-deserved rest! Zen's numbers are in good shape, we just have to keep an eye on his tummy every few weeks, but I suspect it's from these storms rattling his nerves. Otherwise, we have a happy, healthy, furry household! It's good chatting with you-- I like popping in from time to time to check on you and the folks who were so helpful for Zenny and I, so I'll be chatting with you soon. ❤️

That really makes it difficult to feed at +9 when kitty will not use an auto feeder. Has she ever eaten from an auto feeder? Gosh, Adrienne, I am thinking that your life could be so much easier at night if she would eat from an auto feeder. Do you know why she won't? Is she afraid of it? I'm sorry your girl can be such a struggle. Bless you for doing everything you can to help her.

I see Susie, mom doesn’t have to make an important appointment so you coast along in the triple digits :D

Good thinking with the food change. Curious to see why it does.

I look forward to your visits and congrats on your new job. Yes, this COVID environment really sucks. Wonder if we will ever feel free to not worry. I'm sorry Queso is dealing with pancreatitis. So many care givers on this site are dealing with other issues than diabetes. At least your Zen stepped up and showed what he could do and freed you from that concern. Hope you can get Queso into a good place. Good to know that you and Tim got a vacation - even if it was apart. It is also nice to know you got to see your best friend in DC. Love the idea of day trips and congratulations on learning to surf! I haven't done that since the 70s (I'm old now). The storms are very upsetting to my dogs but Susie handles them pretty well. That is until Kali runs around the house in a nervous panic and Susie bolts underneath my bed to get away from Kali. Kind of makes testing hard at times. I'm grateful we don't have to worry about Fred and hope the same will be true with Grace. I look forward to your next "pop in". Take care, Emily. :bighug:

Hi Joey. I like the low triple digits. The low blues and the high greens. Your poor boy had a tough day with the bouncing yesterday but good save with the 52 today. I am finding, more and more, that at this point I don't want Susie to go too low because she just bounces. I want her up into the 70s at a minimum so I am always on hand to feed her when she is going low. I know it is frustrating. Some folks encourage the mid level greens but when our kitties just bounce it doesn't make sense. Just my opinion. I know I am no where near remission. I just want her regulated in safe low blues and upper greens. Then, if we are fortunate enough, someday we may be taking more reductions and getting more stable numbers and who knows? Maybe remission will be on the horizon. Try to keep him from going too low. He just bounces badly. I also don't see you posting everyday. Can you do that so you will get more help? Thanks for stopping in, Joey. I look forward to following your sweet Templeton's progress.

We have purchased 4 different feeders and returned 3. We have worked with it with Dolly, treats, food, nope :banghead::banghead:. Dolly like most cats does not like change but she is the most finicky cat I’ve ever had. She is a social eater, likes me to be nearby, won’t eat cold food and the feeders all have bowls that’s are too deep for her liking :stop:. I leave fresh food out at bedtime and make sure either Rob or myself pick it up on one of our many bathroom trips  before it’s been out too long. She is definitely a challenge. I do believe she will eat almost anything when she drops too low, thank goodness. I just have learned to go with her flow:D and love her for whoever and whatever she is. :p You and Susie have a wonderful blue ( I hope) rest of your day. :bighug::bighug:

Is there anything Dolly REALLY loves to eat that you might put on top of her food in an auto feeder for +9? The Forti Flora (spelling ?)? PureBites flakes? Something that would not make her turn her nose up to it? Sorry. I get your message about nothing working. Just wish there was something you could do to make your life easier. Good night, Adrienne. I hope you get a good nights sleep.

Thanks Summer. She gets FortiFlora on all her food. That’s how I transitioned her from dry to canned food at the start of her diabetic journey. I try to be diligent in researching everything, hence the four different feeders. Some things I just have to accept. I’ve learned to sleep around the night time feedings from checking her multiple times a night when she would drop low. I truly appreciate all of your help and suggestions.

That is a question that has been in the back of my mind lately. Why can't we just feed to keep them in slightly higher numbers to prevent such drastic bouncing. My thought is it's because of wanting to get their bodies used to being in those 50-80 numbers, no matter what sort of 500 bounce we get from that? And the getting them used to lower numbers will result in 500 bouncing, then only up to 400 bouncing, then 300, and so on is really starting to make sense to me. Maybe once I don't have to fight to keep him above 50 I'll post that question in my daily condo.
