Thank you, Sienne and Marje for your comments on my post last night. Sienne, the link to the paper you sent about pancreatitis is a great help. Cleo ate a pretty good amount of food last night but not so much this morning. I am going to call the vet and ask about why I wasn't given anything for pain. She doesn't look like she is in pain, but as we know, cats don't always show it.

Meanwhile, Simon has a nice blue start to the day. This is a refreshing change from how he has been lately.

Off to tbp.

Morning Georgia ~O) ~O) I hope your day is off to a good start. Simon sure is - I love blue amps. I hope he surfs well for you, maybe even a dip into the greens.

Good luck with the vet. I too would think you would want something for pain for Cleo. I understand that pancreatitis can be very painful. As you said cats can mask it very well.

Have a great day today. :-D

Hi Georgia, thinking of Cleo and hope you can get the bupe for her. They are good at hiding the pain. Nice blue from Simon.

Re: 8/15 Simon AMPS 141

Hi guys .. well this is a much nicer start to the day for simon .. wonder if he senses you are a little less stressed now? I'm glad you figured out what is going on with cleo, hopefully you can get her some pain meds today .. wonder what the enlarged spleen means .. maybe your vet will get those test results soon .. hang in there, I know it's hard when our babies don't feel well!

Re: 8/15 Simon AMPS 141

Pain meds are a must with pancreatitis and Bupe - NOT metacam.

I just saw Cleo's post this morning. I hope she starts feeling better really soon. Hugs to you both.

Re: 8/15 Simon AMPS 141

Sorry to hear Cleo is going thru pancreatitis, Leo is just getting over a bout of it too. I gave him bupe and fluids for 2 days, he's been on cerenia for 5 days and we just started B12 shots as well.

I hope Cleo is feeling better soon, and Simon looks pretty good today too!

Re: 8/15 Simon AMPS 141

i know you give Cleo subq for her CRF dx so don't stop them. the ondansetron and pepcid are ok to continue......now you need some bupe for the pain....

sorry to hear of the CP dx.....but it is manageable.....

and yes...please assist feed her....

sending you all cyber hugs!

Very nice, Simon. Love that blue AMPS. Sending healing vines to Cleo. Isn't this board amazing? The collective cat wisdom here is incredible.

Re: 8/15 Simon AMPS 141

I am just so overwhelmed by everyone's love and support here in LL. It means so much to me.

I did call the vet first thing this morning and asked for bupe. The vet (not Cleo's regular vet) agreed that if she seems in pain, it would be a good idea to give her some pain meds. Why didn't she do that yesterday?!! I wouldn't have had to have DH go back to the vet today to get the meds. Cleo hardly touched her food today so I'm hoping that the bupe will help.

Meanwhile, Simon is back up again. I need to re-fill his insulin and maybe that is why his numbers are so wonky lately.

Big hugs to everyone!!!

Hey Georgia, one more thing to tell you. The ER vet told me this, feel just underneath Cleo's ribcage on the side, press all over that area, if she meows, growls, hisses or whatever then you know she's in pain. When Leo went to the ER last week the vet had shown me that. Leo growled so he was obviously in pain from pancreatitis. Hope it helps :)
