Morning..
well the numbers have all been good for a while now but the behaviour sure is weird..... thus... Miss Skitzed out.
I think she is leery of me now.
We had a little accident and she seems to be blaming me.
I keep a cardboard shallow box ( what holds cans when you buy a case) in the kitchen because she likes to lay in it.... especially when I am cooking.
There are high cabinets above it.... has all the things in it like olive oil, flour, etc.... and my husband keeps a bag of raisins in there. I guess he didn't quite put them
up well enough because when I opened the cabinet last week.... the raisins ( half a larger bag) fell out and landed on Shadow's head.
Of course she ran. And I ran after her ... " I'm sorry", "you're okay" trying to sooth her. It scared her a bunch and probably hurt some too.
Well since then she'll come in the kitchen just a little and get my attention ( hey mom, food? ) and leaves pronto. She's not staying.
I don't blame her for that. I expect it will be 6 months of uneventful accident time before she'll come in there again.
But..... last night, when I tested her she really tried to get away where she normally sits here and purrs. And she won't sit with me in my recliner.
She is running away as fast as she can if I pick up a bag of treats. She does not want any of her treats at all.
I thought this morning that maybe it's the crinkly bag but she still comes to me for her catnip which is in a crinkly bag too.
Of course, the raisins are no longer allowed up in that cabinet.
We had an accident in the kitchen years ago....my DH spilled hot water on her (microwave and she got under his feet) and she avoided the kitchen for months so I'm guessing
we'll just have to go thru it again.
maybe I'll give her a little raw shrimp in the kitchen today after work and see if she'll even eat it in the room.
I hope she isn't going to give up her freeze dried treats though. That will really cause problems.
Healing vines for all who need them.... thinking of Bern and Tashie, and Jamie and Jupiter.
