8/15 Jupiter AMBG/69 Feeling reallyyyy frustrated

I first tried 3 hours ago to change Jupiters bandage. He starting biting and scratching right away. I tried with the cone and I tried putting a blanket over him.

So I let him lay here next to me for an hour to calm down and I didnt let him up because he cant be biting, licking, or getting his wound dirty.

Tried again. Tried doing a "kitty burrito" and that just seemed to make him more angry and he growled and tried to get away the whole time I was trying to wrap him.

So when I tried to put his bandage on he kicked his foot really hard and really fast and I just cant get the bandage on.

Honestly I have no idea what to do. Im starting to feel really frustrated.
 
Do you have any treats or a toy just enough time to try to wrap real fast? I hope you can get him under control remember you are mom :lol: I'm having hard time getting Taz's mouth open he lost his other canine he makes his gums so tight I need pri bar but have to make sure no infection. some kitties are so set in there ways good luck Jamie thinking of you and JUPE

If kitty burrito doesn't work, will scruffing? Probably not, but worth a shot.

Deep breaths. I assume Jupe is out of his Bupe, at this point?

Do you have a friend or neighbor that would be willing to give you an extra set of hands to hold/scruff/wrap him?

If not, what about the vet? I know that's a last ditch effort.

Sorry I don't have any better advice, but at least this will bump you back to the top. Sending healing & calming vines to you & Jupe, hope you get it taken care of soon.
 
Hi Jamie. Sorry you're having problems getting Jupiter's foot rebandaged. Have you tried a harness. Some cats feel so awkward in one they just lay still. Just a thought. I hope you find a solution.

I'm sorry he's fighting you on getting the bandage on. I hope you were able to find a way to get it wrapped. Sending calming vines to you and Jupiter.

I am so sorry that Jupiter always has to make it so difficult for you!! And all you are doing is trying to help him heal!!

I don't have any suggestions...sorry. Just waiting you to know we are all rooting for you......

On a bright note: at least Jupiter always has such a fighting spirit....yes? I think that is a great sign....I know it doesn't help you any.....but thought I would offer that.

and...the suggestion of putting on a harness WAS GENIUS. such a good idea...that I will use in the future...because it is so true....you put on a harness and they just become non-moving blobs.

don't give up.......you are a fighter too!

Aw, Jupe, let your bean wrap up your foot. We know you don't like the bandage, but it will help your foot heal. Stay calm, big guy.

How did it go with the re-bandaging his foot?
I hope Jupiter eventually stayed still long enough for you to wrap his foot.
It's a sign of healing wound that it's so itchy for him (bright side).
It must be so hard try to change bandage alone when he's not cooperating.
You are such a good mommabean, Jamie.
