Thank you!!
May I ask about how often you are feeding Chloe? Twice or three times only? A 3oz can?
You must know what you are doing based on her SS and the fact that she was in remission already once; how did you get her into remission then and why did she fall out? I would like to learn from you!!
Are you still giving her B12? Did it help with the twitches?
I hope you don't mind being the teacher of eager pupils!!!!

Oh boy! I’m still a student myself.
I’m not 100% convinced she had a real remission the first time through, honestly. I hadn’t found this group yet, she was on Vetsulin, and I wasn’t testing BG at home, AND she was still on high carb prescription food. She went in for a checkup where the glucosamine read numbers the vet liked, so she did a curve and declared her in remission. She probably wasn’t, or at least not a strong remission that I’m aiming for now.
As bummed as I am to be dealing with FD, I feel like I am real lucky with how Chloe is handling it. From other condos on here, I know that other cats have not been as easy to regulate and I know that I am lucky. I don’t think it’s anything *I’m* doing, but here’s our routine.
I put food down twice a day, but I leave it out for most of the day/night for her to free feed. She’s a grazer, and my civvie generally has no interest in her food (he eats LC dry mostly). I do 2.5-3oz (depending on if it’s a small can, large can, or pouch) each meal time. Around +6, me or my husband will check the dish. If there’s still food in it, we’ll add a little water to freshen it up. If she’s eaten it all by +8, we’ll do another 1-1.5 oz. We are both home a lot so this works out for us. Food gets picked up at +10, but otherwise she’s free to eat. She was free fed dry before this, so that’s just what she’s used to.
I stopped the B12 for now. I’m not noticing the twitching nearly as much. When I noticed her spitting up and hairballs picking up, I kind of knocked back all supplements just to see if that was causing it. Since I didn’t notice the twitching worsening after cutting out B12, I’ve just kind of held back. I do sometimes still mix in egg yolk powder with dinner to avoid hairballs. I think the spit up has mostly happened on days when I was testing a flavor of food she didn’t like. She didn’t eat as much during the day, so her empty tummy probably was having an acidic reaction. This is the current theory I’m operating under.
I’m sorry your journey with Tiger isn’t going the way you want it to

I’m glad to see he was running about today!
