I'm beginning to think that she liked that "fluffy" 1.5 dose a little better. I'm trying really hard not to jump to conclusions, but well....the numbers don't lie

We'll see where we're at at PMPS time....come on China girl....hold this reduction for mama!!

The lump on Cleo's shoulder/scruff area has gotten a lot bigger so she's off to the vet this afternoon....don't know how I'm going to pay for it, but I can't stand by and watch, hoping it'll go away any longer. I've hot packed it, hoping it was a cyst, but if it is, either I didn't do it right or she needs more than hotpacking. I've also noticed a couple of much smaller "bumps" along her back.:nailbiting:

Her coat is also growing back in (she gets a lion cut) and it's growing back in very dry and thin...Not like her at all. She's always had very fine hair, but lots of it and the stuff that's growing now looks more like straw.

I know she needs a dental too.....I'm taking her to a different vet than China goes to (closer to home) and have no idea what they charge....they don't have the equipment to do x-rays though (at least they didn't when I was looking for someone to do China's first dental) but at this point, I'm just trying to figure out how to pay for today's office visit.....Sure wish I could have afforded to have all my cats on insurance!!

If anyone runs across a winning lottery ticket they're not planning on cashing in ;)
 
China, what are you doin' up on shore? Are you looking for Harvey? Do NOT go after him. Just wave to him and try to get him to come to you!

Sending lots of vines for Cleo. I hope it's something benign like a cyst. Please keep us updated.

Good news!! It was a cyst that was full of nothing but water!!

Even the vet was surprised...she put a needle in to get a "sample" to look at and it literally gushed at her....totally clear but she still looked at the fluid on a slide and said no cancer or anything she was concerned with.

She said it may fill right back up, or it may stay drained for months, but if we want to surgically remove it, we can

Then she looked at her mouth :( She's in bad need of a dental (which I figured....she's been making some funny noises lately when she eats). She's got several resorption lesions in the back and has lost one canine already. She figures she's going to need several extractions

So, I guess I'll be trying to raise the funds for another dental....and while she's under, she said she could go ahead and take care of the cyst for another $75

Hey there Deputy Mistress, totally get why you're taking a break on the beach, what with all of the rescuing and water wing deliveries you've been kept busy with, but time to go hang out in the lagoon and chill! :cat::bighug::D

So sorry about the teeth...:( This is the second case of dental reabsorbtion ive heard of in under a week! What causes it?? I never even knew it existed!:bighug::bighug:

it's hereditary for cats and it turns out to be fairly common.
i liken it to people who have bad enamel... get lots of cavities even tho' they work hard not to.....

their saliva even contributes to the decay of their teeth.... andyou can brush them..... but according to my vet.... you might slow it down but you can't defeat it....
and it's costly since you keep having dentals until all their teeth are gone....

if you think about it....
a cat cannot run it's tongue over the teeth so anything sitting on the teeth or in pockets.... just stays there unless you brush.

That is very good news indeed about the cyst. Sorry about the need for extractions, however.

China, if you need more juice, you need more juice. We'll watch the lagoon from the beach tonight. I got a fur shot on top of my trip bounce.

Wow...a friend's coworker has been dealing with this with her cat, was first I've ever heard of it! Thank you for the education!
 
Nice report China.

Smokey has FORLS. They wanted to do full mouth extraction once the pancreatitis was better. Now with his heart and 6 months older, they are not recommending it. I keep trying to brush but don't get to far.
 
Look who's back in the lagoon!!! :D:D:D

Now we have to see if we can get Deputy Harvey to follow.....LagoonMeister Rusty will have to watch from the lifeguard tower tonight
 
Excellent news on the cyst! One worry down.
But if it isn't one thing, I guess it's another. Sorry you've got the dental need.

China, you've spoiled us with some fantastic cycles. Keep spoiling us!
