OMG did she scare the crap out of me yesterday. 1 hr after being home from vet who did nothing but take temp, look in ears, listen to heart, Ollie totally shut down. She wouldn't eat after PMPS, became limp and lethargic, I put her in the playpen because I didn't think she would get up and go to litter box if needed. I put her in and she didn't move all night, stayed in same position, not a roll, stretch or turn around from her. Didn't even pick her head up when I touched her. Breathing very shallow. Bean packed and dressed to run to ER at slightest change.

She pulled out all the stops in scaring the bean to death tactics.

This morning I wake up look from the couch and she is sitting up and looking at me hey mom let me out. She is up, walking, used the box. Appetite isn't the best but she is eating. After breakfast she went back in playpen. I opened curtain so she could have sunbeam. She is purring happily.

Oh Paula, I'm so glad she's better this morning! I didn't see your notes from yesterday until this morning and I've been stalking the board watching for an update. I wonder what it was all about? There were no new meds given yesterday were there?

I’ve been watching for an update too. Very happy to hear she’s much better this morning. Wouldn’t you like to know what “it” was though. I hope sweet Ollie is back to 100% very soon!

This is the part I like, not the fear and all of last night. Kisses to Olive.
Gee, what was that though.

Poor little sweetie, going to the vet must have tuckered her out more than she let on and she had no energy left. I hope the sunbeams revive you both! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Keep purring Ollie we all love you! :bighug:

I really don't know what happened. She wasn't like that during the worst of pancreatitis or when she first got here flipping side to side being in pain and uncomfortable.

It was like she was in a coma or something. Not reacting to anything.

Paula, I noticed on her Labs her Platelets are very low. Is there a reason for that? Could that cause extreme lethargy?

Sure hope Ollie is OK

OMG! Do you think she was mad at you for taking her to the vet? I'd like to think that our cats would never express emotions like anger or resentment...but do we really know? Odd behavior that's for certain...glad she's ok today!

I'm so happy and relieved that Olive is doing better!

Could she have gotten hold of a garlic clove when you were prepping her garlic oil ear drops? https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/garlic/

ETA: This was the link I meant to put in: https://www.catster.com/cat-food/can-cats-eat-garlic

I don't think so. I was very careful about that. Kept all cats out of kitchen, washed everything immediately, vacuumed floor.

I won't deny the oil mix may have caused a reaction though. The Halo salve caused the hair on her ears to fall out. It appears my diva doesn't like natural products.

Well she is alert, loving her playpen all day. Eating so much less than normal though. The ear drops don't seem to affect her glucoses that's for sure. She got her subq fluids today, no problem there. Pooped, peed. Just appy is off.

Be taking husband to his overnight sleep test in a little while. He said tomorrow when I pick him up we will stop for breakfast, only place we will be near is Friendly. The grocery store is right next to it so will be doing that. Ollie AM shot will be a bit early, picking up hubby a wee bit late. It means I have to get up super early.

Dear Olive, you shouldn't scare your mamabean like that! What a weird thing to have happened. Sometimes there is just no explanation for occurrences like this. But it may indeed have had to do with her meds, or a combination of them. When Rusty had an ear infection right before he died we treated it with a transdermal from the vet. It caused blindness. It was horrible. I don't think Rusty could have held on much longer in any event, but the blindness was so heart-wrenching that we had to make the decision the next morning.
Lots of healing vines and appetite vines for Ollie.

Thinking of you and your DH and hoping all will go well tomorrow.

Just got back from dropping husband off. I GOT THE TV REMOTE TO MY SELF !!!!!!!!!!!

I think Ollie might have a slight upper respiratory/virus. I got home and she's looking up at me to eat and I scritch her head and notice weepy eyes and a nose bugger. And vet said she was nasally. So maybe that's it. I will call them in the morning.

But she is acting normal today except for appy.

Hope Ollie starts to feel better soon.
Enjoy the TV remote tonight. Unless the DH is seeing a doctor in the morning, they kick people out quite early.
