The Boring (and we are A-Okay with that!) Condo

Today he got a LBCS (Little Big Chicken Shot) of .5 instead of .75 as today is I think the second day I will not be able to come home to check on him during the day....I shall be leaving work as soon as the day is over as I am a worry wart mommabean!

I did set his autofeeder (the only thing that is making me feel better) for +3 and +5.5, so he will get fed twice while I am gone. So far he has been really good about eating (shocker, I know!) but this is the first time that it will be used twice today so hopefully he eats the first shift up before the second shift spins to the opening. I will also be leaving for work earlier than normal as well, which I guess is not a big deal, because its not like I am testing him two or three times before I go normally.

So Skooter.....listen to your LL aunties and your mommabean --- SURF SAFELY AND BE AT A GOOD SAFE NUMBER WHEN MOMMA GETS HOME!!!

Sending healing vines to all the lil kittehs that need em, (and the beans that need em, too), good OTJ trial vines to all the LL kitties working on getting off the juice!!!

Re: 8/14 Skooter AMPS 141 +10.75 153 - HERB QUESTION

It is so weird to not have a midday number....but both Skooter and I survived my not being able to come home today!

So weird and random, but asking anyways....I am hoping to hit up the farmers market this weekend and get a few herbs to grow in my house...I want to make sure they are safe for cats to be around.....I am assuming I can get all of the following to grow, but we shall see....I don't know much about them, but there are several I use on a regular basis in a specific dish and the bottles just don't give it the same taste as fresh and fresh can get expensive!

So here are the ones I want to get:
Thyme
Sage
Rosemary
Flat Leaf Parsley

I will most likely grow them on a center island that I don't think Skooter can get up on, but still would like to make sure they are A-Okay for him to be around JUST IN CASE.

Thanks!

I think you are safe with those 4 choices: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-po ... plant-list Off the top of my head, I think onion and garlic are very harmful for cats. I have never had good luck trying to grow Parsley or Sage in a pot, indoors, they get too big. The rosemary will get big too, but you can keep clipping it to keep it compact. Good luck! And good numbers for Skooter as well!

Re: 8/14 Skooter AMPS 141 +10.75 153 - HERB QUESTION

So, did the feeder work? Did he eat both meals?

Re: 8/14 Skooter AMPS 141 +10.75 153 PMPS 172 +2 132

YES! He did eat both meals! This timed feeder will be a life saver....

I went to get my Dairy Queen treat to benefit the Children's Miracle Network, and I have a couple of my surgeries there when I was younger, so had to go support.

Now I am not feeling so hot :( I think my body is slowly starting to not like all the "bad for me" foods, which is good....except I feel like crapola.....I will be setting the alarms for a +4 and go from there.....

Thanks for the tips on the herbs....I have a fantastic recipe for grilled chicken that used extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar and so I like to try different flavor combos with it (garlic/pineapple, garlic/strawberry, basil/pomegranate - the next one will be Rosemary and Blueberry I think). I figured if I am wanting to experiment more, it would be cheaper to buy the herbs and grow em...

your recipes sound absolutely yummy!! You'll have to let us know how they come out when you try them! Don't forget to jot down ingredients so if we want the recipe, you'll have one!....lol

Nice of Skooter to give you an early night off!

I'm glad the feeder is working out. Gives you peace of mind while you're at work.

Sorry you're not feeling well. You've been under a lot of stress lately, so it had to catch up to you.

We grow basil, rosemary, sage and oregano, but we grow them in a greenhouse in our back yard. It is wonderful to have fresh herbs to cook with. When they get carried away, we dry them and then we have some to use in the winter.

Skooter is looking good. I'm glad he slowed down a little. It's better if he takes a little more time getting to the falls. Better chance he'll stay there.

Sending healing vines so you'll feel better in the morning.
