Morning ~O) ~O) and not sure what to think of Maggie in this yellow! :sad: I don't yet have a 2nd human meter, so I checked it against the AlphaTrak2 meter and had a reading of 305, which is about right with the variance between the human and animal meters. Maggie did not have any Lactulose yesterday, since she now seems to be responding to the Miralax, so we can't blame that idea. She even had some prezzies yesterday which would have been two days in a row. We know Inspector Poo will be proud. :-D
They're definitely not Maggie numbers, as she seemed to be so regulated earlier. I'm trying not to analyze too much here, but it seems her higher than usual numbers started with the constipation problem. She has good appy, very vocal an hour before my alarm, semi playful. We'll see where the day takes us with her numbers. I'm planning on buying a second human meter today. I'm thinking of the Up & Up or WaveSense Presto meter that Ann & Tess use or the Micro. With sticking to the same brand, I can use the same strips would be the advantage.

Morning Ann and what is up with Maggie's numbers, sure not her normal stuff. Come on down Maggie - you look better in blue. Maybe to day is just an off day for Maggie. Sometimes Mannie will throw me days like this too. Who knows why they do what they do.... I hope she comes down soon for you. Good luck with your meter shopping - I hope you find one that you like.

Very nice though on the LB prezzies - I am glad that the miralax is working for her. :-D

Hi guys .. hmmm no advice on why maggie would be up in the yellows .. I hope she comes back down for you and continues in more "maggie like" numbers .. having a second back up human meter would probably make you feel better .. have a great day guys!

These definitely aren't Maggie numbers, but I do wonder if the constipation was an issue - maybe it will take a while for her to become re-regulated again. It could be one of those situations where you have to go up to come back down and all that fun FD stuff :roll: ...

(Who am I to talk?? I certainly can't figure out why Trix suddenly needed more juice last fall and still won't consisently stay in the lower numbers like she used to!)

At least she's moving in the right direction with that +3! Definitely a good idea to get a second human meter for back up/comparison since Mags isn't throwing her usual Mags numbers.

Much better and down to blue. I won't be here to catch the next number, but knowing Maggie, if she drops at all, it won't be a dive, just a little lower!

Michelle, thanks on the lb prezzies and now hopefully her numbers will come down. I about choked when the AT showed 305, which is what I used for a long time.

Devon, thanks for your visit. Yes, I think I need a human back-up meter just so I can compare with another similar meter when unsure of a wonky number.

Amy, I think maybe she did get out of regulation with the constipation issue, Yes, we may need to do the go up before we can go down thing. I'll give this some time yet, as Maggie is a slow mover.

Yes, Detective Poo is keeping an eye on this condo and is quite pleased with the action here. Keep it up, Mags! And, uh, that BG, that should be going down. Interesting explanation about the lactulose and how it is processed.

Liz, amazing as her bg just went down as you posted! :-D Yes, the Lactulose and the way it works is interesting. Mags is reporting to Detective Poo that she had prezzies yesterday, so today is probably her day off, or maybe later. :lol: She's full of surprises lately.

And on the meters, we switched from the Alpha Track to the Arkray mini some time back and the Arkray mini is the same as the relion mini. I believe I read on LL recently that Wal Mart will stop carrying the relion and have the Arkray. I think they are exactly the same meters anyway. We've tested them side by side as comparison (our Arkray mini and our back up mini) and sometimes had 20-30 point variance when numbers were high.

If you only buy ONE new one, then you will end up with 2 BG numbers.
Hardly worth the effort.

So, at LEAST THREE meters are needed for a tie breaker....
But, if you have three meters and they are ALL wildly different, then a FOURTH would solve the dilema...right? Yes, I think you should buy at least 3 new meters...

Raja is SO excited and is on the phone to Maggie who is getting ready for all the bew holes in her ear....they want so badly to pick our more earrings for dear Maggie...it IS the Rage, you know....multiple earrings on the one ear.....they definitely need a diamond....yes, one diamond at least!

Thanks Anne on the Arkay Mini being the same as the Relion Mini. Are they both the same as the old Relion Micro. Last time our Walmart was still carrying the Relion brand. Yes, I think it's good to have a back-up human one since I'm now a convert.

Jane, a little bit up at the +8, but I think it's food. She had some food at the +5, so hopefully she'll come down for the PMPS! :?

Hi Ann,

Whenever Racci has a dose change her numbers go crazy for at least a few days. It always makes her bounce. Maybe that's what's going on with Maggie?

Nice to see Miss Maggie back into the blues, i hope it was just the NDW. Now that she is pretty regular again, she certainly will be getting back to her nice maggie numbers.

:lol: :lol: :lol: On the meters. I was just checking and Total Diabetes Supply has the WaveSense w/ 200 strips for the cheapest price around, even cheaper than just the strips! :shock: Of course, you can only get a RED one if you go to Target! :lol: :lol:

Hi Melanie, I hope it is the new dose wonkiness with the crazy un Magie numbers and she settles down soon. It's so hot here, and Mags is sleeping in the sun. I just pulled her away and tried placing her in another spot without waking her. :-D

Georgia, thanks on Maggie and hugs to Cleo Her numbers today are much better. We have some really high temps and high humidity which may be affecting her.

Ann & Tess, :lol: you must mean ADW vs. Total Diabetes Supply for the WaveSense Presto. I did look at Target and saw a red one and I think a purple meter. After I saw Anne's post on the Arkay Mini, I was confused as to which one to buy. :lol: That's a good deal though on the meter.

Much better PMPS! Since when are you bouncy Maggie! Too funny on the meter discussion. I refuse to use anything but the Arkray so I don't get sucked in on comparing. Have a great night Ann!!
 
Lookin' good this evening, Mags!

I'm with Melissa...I've switched a few times and am now settled on the Arkray Vital. It's consistent and reliable, and you cannot beat the price on the strips (250 strips for about $45!). I am soooo kicking myself for sticking with the One Touch for so long. It was a great meter, but I'm surprised we didn't end up in the poor house because of those strips! Every time I switched, I wondered...until I decided it was time to just settle in and be done with it.

Hi Melissa, I know Maggie has never been bouncy, so this is a surprise. So you and Amy both like Arkay. The meter game can drive one crazy. I think I will stick to Arkay which used to be Relion.
