No insulin again today.

As recommended, I froze some fancy feast and left it out for her overnight. The moment I put it down, Maddy spent 15 minutes licking it and eating most of it. I guess this is the result of using wet food as a special treat for 14 years. Since she's a cat, I expect that she'll grow accustomed to this new food and learn to treat it with indifference or mild disdain soon enough. In the meantime, it seems to have brought down her AM numbers a bit.
 
Wow...what a difference getting the dry out of her diet has made! She's looking pretty great!

Those AMPS numbers are still a little too high though...has anyone suggested you give her a snack at +9 on the PM cycle and see if it brings those AMPS numbers down? It might be worth it for a few days to get out of bed whenever +9 is and give her that snack.

You could get an auto-feeder too if you wanted to. That way you could set it to open when you want it to. A lot of us around here use the PetSafe 5 auto-feeder

All in all though, she's looking pretty good! Just need to get those morning numbers down a little
 
Yeah the a.m. numbers are still a little high but they are trending downward. As far as her eating her frozen snack while frozen. My Patches a.k.a. Pudgly will do that so to trick him I make him a cupcake. I take the frozen catfood puck and frost it with a fresh portion. That way he has something to eat right away that's easy to eat and then usually he'll leave the frozen alone until it thaws.

This morning, Maddy's BG was 119. Apparently, last night's frozen meal made it a little longer. I'll try the cupcake technique tonight to see if that will improve things even more.

I've been thinking about that automatic pet feeder for awhile. It would definitely be more convenient to only have to set up her meals once or twice a day, rather than four times.
