I went ahead and took everybody's advice and gave him another reduction this morning. Hope he does well on .5u. It felt like it was hardly worth sticking him for that little! Hopefully it will lead to no sticking at all!!!!
Yeah Elian! Hold that reduction please. We want all those beautiful greens today.
Bet you feel wonderful, being able to take this next step down the dosing scale with Elian. He is doing fantastic lately. You should feel very proud of all the hard work you have put in with him.
Just wait till you dose him 0.1 and try to give him just a drop! Talk about feeling like giving nothing! But amazing what a little drop will do for him.
Thanks guys - I am so happy for him!!!! And couldn't have done it without all of you. But now I have to be worried about figuring out just a drop?!!!!! Oy!!!!
You have a little time to practice that 1 drop of insulin. The next step down from the 0.5U that Elian is on now would be to 0.25U. He's not ready for that yet, but think about it.
We'd like to try and hold Elian at this 0.5U dose for 6 full cycles, before we take him down to the next level.
I know. Wink decided he had had enough of the insulin and shot routine and that was all she wrote. I did try to keep him on 0.1u for a bit, but he went straight from 0.6 to 0 and then to that 0.1U.
I've got the feeling Elian is trying for the same thing.
Coming into what I hope is the final stretch but now I'm feeling even more nervous!!!! I'm also confused as to why he's going lower at later hours in the day when he would normally be on his way up. But who cares as long as he stays in that pretty green territory! Half hour til test/shoot time. That'll make cycle #2!
Pmps 72! My little surfer man!!!! And he's feeling good - never been much of a player - always more serious. Well he's batting around my pen and rolling around on the floor. Soooooo nice to see him feeling good!!!! And I'm sure the 5 lb weight loss has helped his self esteem.
Susie, when you see the lower numbers later in the day, has he eaten recently? If his pancreas is working well, he might drop "naturally" as his system responds to food being added to it.
Looking great Susie! I'm so happy you shot that!   And it's great to hear how well he's feeling and playing.
My Neko as an acrocat has a working pancreas, and I often see her slide down in the last half of the cycle to PS. So, looks like Elian's Mr. P is sputtering away. The down side for us is it's not predictable. :?
