Chino had another green nadir yesterday on the 5th cycle of 13.5 units. Last night, I gave 1 unit of R to limit the bounce - first time giving R for a BG under 300.

I hope he's able to come down from this one as quickly as he came down from the last 2 bounces from blue. I would rather see a long stretch of blue every other day than a short stretch of green every third day...

I'm just baffled by his wildly inconsistent response to R. 1 unit took him from 291 to 217 last night. This morning, the first 1.5 units did seemingly nothing. I was wondering if it had lost potency overnight but the 2nd dose brought him down by 42.

The vet finally found the waiver and emailed it to me. I signed and faxed it back, and they should order the cabergoline tomorrow if they haven't already done it.

Next vet appt is set for 9/15, but I'll be on the last pen by that time... assuming the dose doesn't increase. In 2 weeks, I'll call and ask them to fax an Rx for Levemir to MMP. My biggest concern is changing the time of his nadir, since +8 is the only time I can reliably wake up every night (between 1st and 2nd dose of meds), but if it can help with the bouncing and make his cycles more predictable, that would be a huge benefit.

Just think where he might have been if you hadn't given the first dose of R. Looks like it kept the lid on things.

+8 is a pretty good time in a cycle to get a test. That is the "typical" nadir time. With a PMPS and before bed test, on Lev I got so I could tell if I needed to get a +8 (or more like +9 for Neko), or +7. She never was good with a schedule. :p Joking aside, Neko got a lot flatter and more predictable on Lev. Not to say Chino will, but the odds are good.

I had to get the script filled myself, the Vet pharmacy was too expensive and only had the pill format which we would have to cut in 1/8 which even the pharmacist didn't think it would be possible. So I had to find a compound pharmacy in my area who made it for me in liquid format, they flavoured it too :)

The vet was in touch with a compounding pharmacy but said the pharmacy will need to order it in pill form, then make it into a liquid. $90 for a 30 day supply.
