Yesterday

Just tried to get a +7 but no luck. Poked her twice with a 31 lancet and didn’t get enough blood, the meter gave me an error reading. I did not try a third time, as I want her to stay calm during this process. Just gave her some treats and pets instead. Will do her PMPS and +2 tonight and try using a bit of vaseline.

PMPS went super smoothly, thank goodness. 381. Of course these numbers don’t mean anything to me yet, but she does seem a bit brighter and comfortable than she was a few days ago, so I’m happy.

You should try using a 26 or 28 gauge lancet , that's what most of us start off with, which will make a bigger hole , down the road when more capillaries grow you can switch back to the 31 gauge lancet. I've always used either a 26 or 28 from the start and still do

I have been using 26 gauge so far, thought I would give the 31 a shot to minimize pain but clearly I’m not ready yet. Used a 26 tonight and it went just fine.
