Hi Sandy, glad that chase is eating better for you. I believe when I had to use the Cerenia, I stopped it when Bubba started eating well again. But, I don't really know if that was the correct thing to do or not. Hopefully Amy or someone with more experience with it will weigh in.

I'm so glad he's feeling much better! Honestly, you could go either way with the cerenia. I might be inclined to try stopping it, but restart it at the very first sign of appy issues if they do come back. ECID and all that.

You could also try phasing it out - giving 1/4 tablet instead of 1/2 tablet.

This point is the tricky part...trying to decide if you're OK to stop meds or not....unfortunately it does involve a bit of trial and error.

Prayers that he continues to feel good!

Hi Amy. I did go ahead and give his the 1/4 tab this morning. I must need a new pill cutter because when I tried cutting into fourths, the pill disintegrated. The vet is going to give me more. I'll go ahead and give him the last one of his original prescription tomorrow, and then go from there. Thanks.

Oh yes, I always held my breath when I was doing the 1/4 cut on cerenia. A very sharp cutter does make a difference. I always put the flat side down - that helped, too. And I would gently put the blade on the pill, and then split with a quick but gentle push. Usually worked...but of course not always.
