So.....at what point does one decide to begin a T
R
I
A
L

???

I certainly don't want to get ahead of myself and I REALLY don't want to get excited about something I shouldn't be getting excited about just yet. On Tuesday, I'm supposed to get a package in the mail containing the 350 test strips I ordered and a box of 100 syringes. It figures I would order right before all this!!

Champ is completely back to his normal health. His appetite is fantastic and I will most likely have to invest in a timed feeder because he wants to be fed every three hours throughout the night and I AM NOT willing to do that for him. Sorry Champers!!! I love ya, but no way Josie.

My daughter and I are celebrating my birthday today, getting mani/pedis, going to lunch, etc., because she has a mandatory sorority retreat next weekend and won't be here. Don't say happy birthday yet!!! I refuse to be 50 before next Saturday!!

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!!

Dont rush anything!! He is only all green a few days...I am very happy for you with this great success--
Ask dosing peeps, I havent ever done it, but 7-14 days of green I believe---Paws & fingers crossed==
You want to have a solid basis before you do any "T" word(antijnx)
Big Hugs from us!

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

But he's been all green for a few days with no insulin. Isn't that what the "T" is all about?

Taken from Junior's condo....
Sienne and Gabby said:
Here are the OTJ trial instructions:
  • Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
  • If he is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!
Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Go Champ!!!   Fingers and paws crossed that the greens continue!

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

Well, I'd avoid using that word, just in case he's reading the condo. Because of the fuds thing it may be wise to have everything back to normal for a few days before getting excited. See what the advisors say.
Easier said than done!

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

I've been following Champ's condo closely the last few days, because Mr. Howell started to exhibit some of the same weird behaviors -- incredibly picky eating/no appetite, after NEVER turning down a meal! and his numbers were so low... so now we are +27hrs from his last shot and he's at 42 :-D :-D
I can empathize with what you're going through right now -- we don't want to get too excited or hopeful, but it's hard when they show #'s like this!
Have a good time at the salon, you deserve it!

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

Hi Patty & Champ,
It wlll be interesting to see if Champ can maintain these great numbers after a few days of eating normally. So glad he's back eating again!
Enjoy the day with your daughter. And enjoy the BIG 5 next week. When Edward and I turned 50 we threw a big party for 50 friends!

Scritches to Champ! Hope you enjoyed your pampering!

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

I second what Julie says. But I won't say "IT" out loud. I'm going to petition the moderator to pass a new rule that if your kitty's name is "Champ" you have to remain an active resident of LL 'til death do us part

Re: 8/14 Champ AMBG (+60) 69

Hi and wow for you and Champ and what Julie said - you have to stick around LL when you know what! Enjoy your special day today with your daughter. How nice getting mani/pedis and lunch.
