The nothing too exciting happened yesterday condo (08/12)

Well, there is another mouse in the house (YUCK!) Skooter spent most of the night hunting it, I am sure either when I come home from work he will have left me a present or tonight while I am asleep I will be awakened by the clattering of him slamming into things to get it.

Sigh, I have decided it is gross, even though it is a common thing, so in the next couple of weeks I shall be purging every last item I can so there is no clutter and then I shall have an exterminator come out and hopefully rid me of the grossness.

He has been seeming to like this dose, but I sure hope he decides he wants a reduction soon as this .75 is a bit difficult for me to measure and I am wondering if he is really getting more like .5 instead.....oh well....

Hi guys .. oh no on the mice! Hopefully if skooter catches anything, he takes it and deposits it right into the trash can! Pretty blue this morning, maybe green later? Have a great day guys!

I have the occasional mouse. I just think of them as inexpensive cat toys.

Seriously, you have to be really careful about exterminators. If they poison the mice and Skooter finds a dead one, it could be a problem. I doubt he would actually eat a poisoned mouse, but he does have a very good appetite.....

I'm sure if Skooter catches that mouse he will be very proud of himself and want to show you what a good mouser he is! :lol: Be sure to keep your "ew!" to yourself and praise him! He's a lot less expensive than an exterminator (okay, FD kitties are pretty expensive, but you would be paying for him regardless of whether or not he catches mice).

Hope you get some nice, safe numbers today and Skooter and you can relax. You don't really need a dive every day, you know. Sometimes steady is good!

Tonight might be a long night for me.....I wonder how much lower he went if he was at 96 at +5.75 and only up to 106 for his PMPS...just one of those mysteries of life I guess...

I didn't even think of him getting a poisoned mouse....maybe there is a "natural" way to rid myself of them, not sure how many there are.....he gets them so infrequently...

Here is about how it goes:

ME: AAAAAAHHHHHH SKOOTER GET THAT THING OUT OF YOUR MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUTH NOW!!!!

Skooter does not take it out of his mouth, unless of course he wants to bat the poor thing around after it is dead...

ME: PUT IT DOWN NOW!

Skooter looks at me like, yay right lady...

I go pick him up and start shaking him until the dead mouse is dropped on the carpet. Then he gets locked in a bedroom while I have my mini breakdown dispose of said mouse. Skooter is then "released back into the wild" where he proceeds to hunt for his "toy" for about 30 minutes......


I sure am curious how tonight is gonna go....but I got plenty o pizza rolls to keep me awake!

You know, he was green yesterday at lunch time, too. You should fix his spreadsheet. We like to see that green.

My Milo used to get a mouse occasionally. I would have to grab him by the scruff of the neck and shake him until he dropped it. He was never happy when his mousie disappeared.

Cats are the only "natural" mouse control I know of.

Aww...you're going to break his spirit!! You're supposed to say "What a great hunter you are Skooter! Look at that magnificent trophy mouse you caught! Would you like me to have it stuffed and put on the wall next to the boars head and deer antlers or would you rather have it sauteed in white wine and capers for dinner?? :lol:

Here we are talking about the perfect food for our sugarcats, and you have them walking in the door and want to get rid of them?....LOL

I hated that feeling, wondering if BK visited the lowlands and I missed it. . .but we do have to sleep eat and remain gainfully employed ;-)

I agree wholeheartedly. We lost Moochie,our "Big Game Hunter" in February. He just disappeared. . . :cry:
He was stray (of the same lineage as BK) we befriended around 2007.
He was such a good hunter - DBF created a 'casualty list' which was kept on the fridge, to keep a tally of each type of kill-Rats, squirrels, bunnies. .
and a separate category titled 'unidentifiable' :lol:
I always referred to him as being part of our "integrated pest management team". (the list is still on the fridge. . .)

Seriously before you have poison placed anywhere consider the modern plastic snap traps Very easy to use with no danger that you or Skooter might be hurt by accidentally tripping it. There are also live traps if you prefer.

I am so incredibly tired right now that I am not sure if my eyes are open writing this or not.....

Thank you Skooter for surfing for momma tonight so she can sleep.....
