AMPS 130
At last a decent amps.:)
Yesterday am she bounced up to hi at + 6 :(..............I suppose after the greens the night before and the drop after the food spike at +2
Last night she had 'dropped' to 410 at PMPS....that is better than a hi ( funny the things that can please you;)). At+3 she had dropped to 338 so I knew she was coming off the bounce. So I decided to monitor all night if necessary to try and get her down without a big drop. I gave her honey at +4.5, +6.5, +8; and at + 9.5 she was still dropping so I gave her some LC food with a tiny drop honey as I didn't want her to drop any further and possibly scare her system. @tiffmaxee suggested not letting her drop into green and I think that was a good idea. I managed to fall back to sleep quickly each time so I did get some sleep, although if you look at the SS it looks as if I was up all night.
But I was rewarded with a lovely AMPS of 130 this morning, so it was worth it.
Now I just hope her body doesn't take fright and dump those pesky "sugar hormones" back into her system.

Surf Sheba, Surf!! :cool::cool:
Great job handling her drops Bron! p.s. I totally get why vets use Metcam; opiate type meds don't do anything for my headaches for example; Advil works but is very hard on my kidneys. But given the choice between suffering and getting pain relief, I'll get pain relief every time. I just feel so badly for kitties that have arthritis and other chronic pain and I wish someone would figure out a better option that works! :oops: Have you heard of Duralactin? Wendy uses it for Neko's arthritis along with compounded bupe.

@Tiger(GA) and Ruth
Yes, unfortunately the metacam reduces the inflammation and the pain whereas the opiates just do the pain. I wish they could get better pain meds for cats too.
I have heard about Duralactin....not sure if it is available in Aus. I will follow that up thanks Ruth.
I will also look to see if I can get from O/S .......we mostly can't get meds in from O/S though.

Thanks for cheering us on Carla, Suki, Rhiannon and Marilyn.
Looks like she is on the way up again though. That is a bit high for a food spike:(

@pollydoodle
OK Marilyn......an all nighter with naps:confused::joyful:....although I was in bed and able to fall sound asleep between the alarms. As long as I don't go near the computer or think when I get up, I can fall straight back to sleep.
Rhiannon, Carla and Suki....I tried leg roping her to keep her in blues but she managed to get away:(:rolleyes:
Very very frustrating and disappointing:banghead::( but I am not going to give up. I am determined to get her back into the blue/ green mode.

Ahhh....sounds like you've mastered the technique known as "sleep-poking".....LOL

There have been mornings when the only way I know I've tested overnight has been the fact that there are numbers on the meter that I don't remember getting :rolleyes:

@Chris & China
That is so true. Last night when I got up at one of the times, I remember looking at the last test and having no recollection of taking it or writing it down. It is all about not letting your mind start thinking, I reckon.

I hope your little girl settles down for you soon! Bouncing up and down might sound like fun, but it makes you sick if you overdo it :)

I have definitely yet to master the sleep poking technique. It doesn't help when I have to go looking for the boy and warm up his ear before I can test, with eyes so tired they can barely focus on the lancing device.
