WCR: Most Ps in place. Well, I was going to wait until the weekend to try her on the Ondansetron just so that I could be here & observe, but she was not interested in her breffis and I knew that she was hungry. I'm still going to pick up some Cerenia today. For those of you who have used both Ondansetron & Cerenia, how interchangeable are they? Not that I want to flip back and forth every other day, but I don't know if I should stick with Ondansetron for a while or if I should go back to Cerenia tomorrow.

I got snuggles last night and I slept ok last night...didn't wake up as often as the previous nights, but I did sleep pretty light last night. Shasta got up and ate most of her fuds. She had one pee over night and it was very "Titanic iceberg"...small on the surface...SO MUCH MORE underneath!!! :smuggrin:

OT: First day of school...with students. I'm about 95% ready. Ready or not...here they come!!!! :p

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Morning Deborah :coffee::coffee::coffee:

No clue on the interchange-ability between the two meds. Sure was nice to read that she ate most of her fuds last night. YAY! Nice too on the snuggles.

Good luck at school. wow, first day already... hard to believe that it is that time of year again. Hope all goes well.

Have a great day today!

Lots of vines. I've only used odansetron once. For me! Never had the chemo nausea so never used it again.

Glad she snuggled. Glad she snacked overnight. Now, pretty girl, let's get that glad action going full time.

I always loved the first day with kids. Nervous energy, sure, but I loved the "let's get at this everyone...oh, and we'll have some fun, too."

Vines for the girl...good wishes for a successful kick off to your year.

I started with Cerenia in the shot form .... it stings and they give you a harpoon needle so I switched to oral liquid.
I believe the dose was every other day or every 2 days.
I always used the ondansetron too, it seems to help if you keep it going consistently. I guess it builds up a little in their system so if you skip it, you may be losing some
of it's potency.
I still have a prescription for Shadow, so if your vet won't give you one, I can get you at least one other bottle ... you already know the price tag.

We use them together for both Zener and Tillie. Ondansetron morning and night, 1 mg, before food. Cerenia, 4 mg, 3x per week. We also use just a bit of cyproheptadine for appy stimulant. The vet prescribed 1 mg BID, we use 0.06 mg, just a nudge in stimulating appetite.

ETA: I agree with Rhiannon: the cerenia needles are harpoons! Good if the cat is vomiting though.
