good morning! well i slipped up and put out an entire can of food for anya instead of her usual half, so sad day for punkin, he had to finish up a LOT to keep her in the Clean Plate Club! but he mustered up his inner strength and chowed it right down. :lol:

he's doing just fine this morning. everything seems to be working and all is well.

i am so glad i talked with Dr. Lunn at CSU yesterday - it made me feel a lot better about not doing the acro radiation therapy - which i don't have the $$ for anyway. one comment she made was just because it was available didn't mean that you needed to do it. brilliant.

Good morning! I actually Punkin's condo from yesterday before I even posted Gus' condo today. This lady sounds very well grounded and not just out to collect the money. I was saddened to hear that the life expectancy post acro dx is maximum 3 yrs. That would actually bring Gus to 16! I don't know why this is a surprise to me. I mean, a diabetic, acro kitty of 13. I suppose I'm just living life thinking he'll always be with me. Oops, here come the tears. Just one of those days where the waterworks are just a thought away. I hate those! Punkin's QOL seems excellent, as you said, and he's got a paradise that a lot of kitties can only dream about. He's lucky to have a Momma like you. Have a good day, Julie.

Hi guys ... nice low yellow for punkin today .. sounds like you had a nice conversation with this new vet .. Glad you are feeling good about your choice .. and I agree, punkin is very lucky to have such a good bean taking care of him! have a great weekend!

That Punkin is such a trooper, working so hard to keep Anya's CPC status intact. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it!

I'm glad your conversation with the vet gave you peace of mind. Definitely a brilliant comment that the procedure isn't necessarily necessary, just because it exists.

Nice start for Punkin today!

Hi Julie and Punkin, nice lookin' numbers!
Just because it's available doesn't mean you have to do it -- that is something my family vet use to remind us as well. There's that time you have to decide if you are doing it for the kitty's benefit or for yourself. I think you made that decision well in his favor. He will be so grateful for it! And is soo lucky to be so spoiled by you. :-D

Finally I get to visit condos...thanks for coming into ours and giving me a great laugh at the end of the day. I always look forward to it.

I read your condo yesterday and I have to agree that you are an amazing bean and that Punkin is doing so well...why upset the apple cart? You have him fairly stable and I'm assuming he can live even longer than 1.5-3 years with your incredible care and love. All you have to do is look at him and see how healthy and happy he is. I had to laugh about all the food put out for Anya and Punkin had to help her with the CPC today.

Good luck with getting ready for the reunion and for hosting it. I know it will be da bomb!!!! Have a great night. BIG HUGS, girl...I've missed ya!

the little punkin was 132 at shot time and since i hadn't had any tests since +4, i decided to retest in 20 minutes just to make sure he was on his way up. he was - in 20 minutes he was 172 and we shot him and he got chicken fud. nom nom nom. been out of chicken for at least a week, and i think it's his favorite. hard to tell though when he just puts his face down and sucks it up no matter what it is. nothing picky about his eating, that's for sure!

i've run out of steam. that makes me steam-less. and there's still people coming tomorrow - but i think anything left to do has to wait for morning. because i'm de-steamed. :lol:

I just love your upbeat attitude, Julie!!! Your sense of humor is something I look forward to!!! Punkin's numbers are looking completely awesome!!! Keep it going!!
 
I agree with the est - your upbeat attitude, sense of humor, down to earth. it is really great. I am glad that you are at ease with the treatment thing for acro. Punkin seems to be doing fine, so enjoy the time with him.
