Three colour yesterday.

8/11 Recap:
AMPS 119 +5.5 233 +9 185
PMPS 155 +3 170 +9 89

Neko's hanging onto her blue today, just barely, but that means good things for later in the cycle. She has an acupuncture appointment this afternoon. It's been a month since the last one and I think she needs it. I'll have to talk to vetty about whether it make sense to do every three weeks or what.

We have rain today! Normally not a big thing in Vancouver but it's been a while, the gardens desperately need it, and the breeze is delightful. Neko however, is not so interested in going outside, which I am happy about. I got an email yesterday that a cougar had been spotted in the neighbourhood (about a mile away) and that same neighbourhood had a cat taken by a coyote. From my days at the shelter, I know that cougar sightings means it's time to keep your kitties inside. Neko may get outdoor time, but only if one of us are with her. Sorry kiddo, bug hunting is limited for the next little while. As consolation, there was a moth inside the house last night - I haven't seen her move that fast for a while.

Vines to kitties and beans in need, extra powerful ones going out to Zener, JD and Amy's dad.

How nice of Neko to keep Cinco company on the blue floor. Please ask her to take him along if she visits the lagoon later!

Lucky you to get rain. It keeps missing us. We're only 40 miles from Sacramento, but they've gotten a little twice in the past couple of weeks, and all we got was clouds on day and just enough sprinkles to make little spots on my dusty car the other time (note to self - wash car!). Rain is not normal in the summer here, but we hope for it, anyway!

Sorry Neko can't get out to hunt bugs. You can always do what we do - let the bugs in as you go in and out! I try to be so careful to keep the bugs out and the cats in, but sometimes the bugs are too fast for me. Luckily, the cats are not (anti-jinx)!

I hope Neko had a good acupuncture session today. Buster seems to enjoy them, although he popped two of them out before he was done today. Guess he didn't need those! Poor Neko. Bug hunting will have to wait. Good news is, there will always be bugs  Put a lid on those numbers, sweetie. You look so good in blue!

It's nice to see Neko stay blue so far today. I hope the acupuncture appointment goes well. Yikes on the cougar. I hope it leaves the area soon.

Cinco, Neko, and Max must have hung out together on the blue deck. Wonder if they will match each other tonight.

Very nice blues, Neko. :-D Yikes on the cougar!  Indoor hunting is a good idea. Thank you for your good thoughts for our Zener. We really appreciate it. :YMHUG:

A beautiful cycle for Neko! I see a PJ party in your future tonight! Did you say there is a cougar in your neighborhood??? As a nature and wildlife photographer, that is as cool as it gets! I am not familiar with North Vancouver, you must really be out in the boondocks! We had cougars in E.Washington where I grew up, but they are pretty much all gone now. I am a big fan of indoor kitties myself, we do have coyotes in our neighborhood, and even a raccoon can kill a cat, so the only time Tiger goes outside is with me or DH watching her the whole time. BTW, Because of the thunder and lighting storm last night, big spiders are coming into the house-I need a cat like Neko to catch and kill them!

Singing the blues today. :-D Acupuncture session went reasonably well. Neko was a good girl for getting her sticks and she really likes the pen laser treatments. Then the vetty left us to "relax" for 10 minutes with the needles in, and that's when Neko started struggling. She just wanted back in her kennel. Neko did get some "outdoor" time after dinner, but just out on the deck. The showers stopped after the morning but are supposed to be back overnight.

@Tricia, Tara, Carla, Elise, Ella, Liz, Ruth - No idea yet what she'll do tonight, could go either way. I'm getting up at +9 for rowing so can spot check her possible nadir. Bug huntress will be disappointed but if we do get more rains the next couple of days that will curtail her interest in going outside. I haven't heard of a cougar in our neighbourhood before. Usually they are just passing through but I have heard of them in other parts of North Vancouver. We are about 5 minutes walk from the edge of the woods. The area has been coyote free for a number of years but a pack of them has taken up residence and took down a golden retriever and a Bouvier on the trails nearby. The acupuncture vetty clinic owner popped in to say hello (and ask about the regatta, she's a rower) and was interested to hear about the cougar as she lives in the 'hood as well and has a large furkid family. The island my mother lives on had a cougar on it a few years ago, they are good swimmers.
@Rusty - Moths are my fav dessert!~Neko

Re: 8/12 Neko AMPS 103 PMPS 146

Very pretty blues today! It will be interesting to see what Neko decides to do tonight. Lucky Miss Neko snagging a moth for a snack!! Months are definitely my kitties' favorite buggy snack. I wish my kitties were better spider hunters. The sometimes play with them if they see them, but I had one run across my lap the other night - one of the small fast creepy ones - and I couldn't get any of the kitties to come rescue me! Hopefully the cougar sees fit to keep his distance. That's frightening about the coyotes attacking dogs - big ones at that! Around here, the coyotes generally steer clear of dogs.

Looks like it's bed time. I might have to start talking dosecrease too.

@Jen - Neko used to be really great on keeping out the spiders, especially in our basement, but she's gone off them the last few years.
