Good Morning LL!!
(Elsa - lots (!!) please! This bean is so sleepy...), and Happy Monday everyone!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is CHEERY CHERRY MONDAY!! Lola and Bug want to make their cheery cherry pizza pies. It is after all Monday, and they is now tradition! I have to admit that they are pretty good! i just wish though that they would keep the cheery cherry whip on the pies, and stop squirting it all over the kitchen. They are all pink now... just like last week, and the week before, and the week before that.  OLLIE? Once again we are going to need your sponges! The sliding will be mega good today! so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a VENTI Quad cherry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cherry whip garnished with candied cherry sprinkles and white chocolate curls. SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of cheery cherry and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized cheery cherries and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!AND!!!! We gots an extra special treat for today: CHEERY CHERRY CHEESECAKE! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! I love cheery cherry Mondays.
I hope everyone had a great Sunday. I sure did. it was another hike day for me, off to The Mt Baker Region and the Baker river. The weather was iffy, but looked as if it would be good for a river hike, so off I went in the hopes that I wouldn't get soaked, or run into those thunderstorms that we have been having for the past few days... got lucky! No rains, no storms, had a great time. I had intended Skyline Divide, or maybe a return trip to Park Butte, but with the weather being what it was: foggy and thunderstorms eminent, I decided that perhaps being on a mountain was not the best place to be.... I have wanted to check out the Baker River Trail, so today I did, fog and low clouds, and all. No mountain view today! No matter though, as the river was very nice. Here is what I wrote in last night's post: "Hi everyone! FINALLY home! Hike was great, the traffic was not... omg! well,a t least I was ON TIME,a nd the kitties did not have to threaten me with that blood oath I signed (no tardiness allowed - EVER!), though they did have it ready.  Hike was good today. I was glad I did not attempt the mountain/ridge ones. It was very wet on the trails up there, would have been an issue, and the fog never did break, so wouldn't have been able to see anything anyways, so good deal it was the river. I liked that hike, it is a very easy one, but the river was really nice. Loved Sulphide Creek at trails end. I read that if it is cross-able there are a few more miles that can be spent next to the Baker River. Not today - that creek was really fast, deep, and I would imagine damn cold... SO we sat there for a bit instead before hiking out. Munched on munchies at the trail head, down on the Baker River. That was really nice. It is about the best spot to access the river from. anyways.... enjoyed it, had a great time. I logged about 8 miles, with minimal effort. Sure were ALOT of folks out camping... trail was deserted though. I think we made maybe 75 here today, sun finally broke at home, but more rains are eminent, t-storms predicted for tonight, sun then tomorrow. I'm glad I left Baker when I did: downpour going on there as I type, t-storms there too. wow, our weather has changed! Here's the Picassa link to the photo and the videos (4 of those): Baker River
Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Elsa spent the day outdoors, mostly on the deck once the rains stopped in the morning. And - she ate all her fuds, at one slotting! guess she is tired of Bug inhaling what she leaves. In fact she woke me up yesterday morning, with lots of meows! It was almost like days of old with the kitty choir: BJ, Mannie and Elsa. Good job Elsa! Bug has managed within the past few days to annihilate his vertical scratchiness posts. Looks like I will need to go shopping and get another or two. At least he, and Lola, are using them YAY!
Last night as I was posting in the condo I kept hearing this odd noise, coming from the kitchen, Upon investigation I found Lola had climbed the screen door for the slider. She was all the way to the top.
LOLA! We haven't let her out yet, but well who knows why she climbed it. Maybe she thought there as an opening at the top.  Anyways - great, just great! I so hope she doesn't rip it apart in an attempt to follow big sister out into the wild blue yonder.... ;-) Paws crossed!
Have a great day everyone. I hope to hike again today, we shall see how I feel about that in a few hours, and also on how the weather is shaping up: it is another one of those mornings: rains in some places, along with thunderstorms.... so once again I need to wait some and see how things develop this morning. They keep saying sun, but well, who knows here. They said that yesterday for Mt Baker, and it never did show. ;-)
KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!
