Yesterday's condo

Up to 4IU this morning. Paws crossed for some blues today! At this rate how high can he go? I see cats here at 7IU BID.. whats the highest you have seen?

Also going to pick up some new insulin. Bailey (the other diabetic cat) is showing higher numbers the last few days so thinking it might be time for an insulin change (its been 2.5 months on this vial). Although it could be a few factors - I am also a little worried that his numbers increased after we switched the Wellness Core for regular Wellness. Regular Wellness grain free is supposed to be lower carb than the Core, I just hope that also is true and they haven't changed the recipe for Canada!! Or it could be we really need to do his dental.. Will be scheduling that for next week.

We've seen way higher doses but that' usually in high dose (i.e., acromegaly and/or insulin resistant) cats. If a cat's dose gets in the neighborhood of 6.0u, we begin to start thinking about getting the cat tested. There are cats who have been at 6.0u and they hit their "good" dose and you start to see the numbers coming down.
