Leaving for Canada for 5 days Friday morning. Mom will be testing, shooting and feeding. I wrote her what can only be explained as a novel for caring for him :lol: Hypo instructions, vet numbers, every possible pre shot number scenario and what to do. Poor woman. What I didn't know what to tell her is what to shoot. We are giving 2.75U BID now. Should I be safe and tell her 2.5? Should we keep it at 2.75U? I would really like to avoid low numbers if at all possible during this trip since she won't be with him during the late night to test if need be. She will be using the auto feeder for nights when he is lower than usual so that he will have something there if needed. Any advice? Thanks!

Oh gosh I am Sooooooo Laughing, as I left a novel for DH & DPS when I went away last week :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
I also did drop the dose from 0.75 to 0.5 for safety--My best advice is to see what happens till thursday--
Then PM or post Libby & ask her what dose will be appropriate-- Moonie was very nervous while I was gone(too much action going on here) But Napoleon will be with familiar people, your parents, who love & care for him---
I think it will all be fine--I'll pm you just in case they need help--OK?
Look how worried I was, Moonie did drop, & DH right away fed her HC!! But she runs pretty low anyway.
I truly feel he will be just fine--Big Hugs--Dont stress you have us--Can you post while you are away??

A lot can happen between today and Friday. I would post this again on Thursday. Generally, if you have a concern around safety issues (i.e., someone who doesn't test the way you do), we drop the dose. Also, it may be easier for your mom to have a dose that's on one of the tick lines on the syringe.

I will post again on Thursday and see what his numbers are looking like then. I am thinking that the 2.5 may be easier for her also, but we'll see how he does up until then.
