As per research and responses from my previous post, we have taken Mo off the biscuits the vet gave us an put him back on solely FF for now and immediately (well after 4 hours from his shot) his BG is 18.8/338! So I was definitely right in saying that his high levels were due to the biscuits and making his pancreas work harder than it needed to. Thank you so much to those that gave me advice on this. I will keep testing him throughout the day and see how he goes. Instead of giving him 2 meals a day, I am now spreading out the food throughout the day (as per recommendations) to make it easier on him tummy. He is very happy to have his FF back
I am wanting to get him on some better quality wet food however, so will get some Ziwipeak cans today and start to slowly introduce those. Will keep him on FF as well but will be good to see how he does on the ziwipeak.
Mo is doing so well! He is back to wanting to sleep under the covers with me, which he hasn't wanted to do in a long time. It makes me think he might have had the pancreatitis mildly for a week or two before he actually started to show real symptoms. He is sitting with me trying to help me type on my laptop as we speak. Oh he's spotted a bird, so now he's watching them fly around outside.
