Yesterday's Condo

I'm hoping today's AMPS is just more NDW. All the blue was making me pretty optimistic, but that high yellow knocked me down a little. Cinco is doing well and is wanting more attention, which is not his norm, so I'm happy with whatever is causing that. I worry that he thinks all I do is poke his ear and put drops in his eyes (because I do both a lot), so I am happy to visit him for just scritches and brushing, too. But he's got to be in the mood for it, and recently he is more often. :-D

Sasha is sneezing and snuffling a lot less. She is not making those awful sore throat noises as much, and I almost skipped her Bupe this morning, but then I heard that scratchy cough a couple of times and gave her a dose. No Zyrtec today. Her appy is still very happy and that makes Mama happy, too! I think she's starting to itch, although I've only seen her scratch once, so I swiped one of DH's old tube sox and made her a sweater. She doesn't like it, but so far is tolerating it. It's hard to get it set so it covers the area I need to cover. The fur is coming out in small chunks now, and the skin under feels kind of stiff. I'm sure it must be uncomfortable, but she doesn't seem too bothered.

DH had to go to Sacramento to work today. He arranged to car pool in and is getting a ride straight to the bowling alley. That leaves me BIC for the PM shot. I did it Thursday night without incident (well, except for wasting a dose when I accidentally hit the plunger when I moved the syringe after filling it! ), and tonight should be easier, since it's a straight 2.0. After T/F/S I'll drive in and join him.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Extra good doctor vines to Amy's DF, and many hugs and prayers to Liz, Anne and Zener.

It was nice to read your excellent condo. I also wanted to tell you how striking Cinco is....I noticed that the first time I saw his pic and then read his profile. He reminds me of a Mayan god. So stately and really pretty profound looking!

I have no advice for you, just wanted to say hi and I think that you do wonderful work with your fur babies. Try and have a nice evening with your DH (I think you said you were going to catch up with him later this evening).

You beat me to putting up a condo again! :o  Come on Cinco, low blue is purty but green is even better. Cute that he's looking for more attention now - he must be feeling good. cat_pet_icon

Good to hear that Sasha's throat is getting better. And that she's got good appy. Good luck with the impromptu sweater.

Your story of Harvey getting out was very scary. Theo doesn't get that wild - he just runs away. And I just got a notice in today's email that there's been a cougar spotted in the neighbourhood and a cat was killed by a coyote about a mile away. nailbite_smile

Re: 8/11 Cinco AMPS 277 +3.5 137 +5 118

Nice slide, Cinco. Silly mamabean worrying about that preshot. You know how to take care of it!

I'm glad that Sasha is starting to feel better. Anti itching vines for her.

That new raw food is calledSmallbatch. It's made in San Francisco (they have another plant in Oregon for PNW distribution.) If the numbers on the website are As Fed, all the cat varieties are 4% or less, carbs. The Phosphorus isn't too bad either, the chicken is just under 300mg/100 kcal, but the others are quite a bit less. The local shop had chicken for about $16 for 3 lbs, that's less than the NV at Petco.

Nice slide for Cinco today. That's great he's being more loving. I'm glad Sasha's sneezing is better and her appy is good. I hope the sock helps keep her from scratching where she shouldn't.

Re: 8/11 Cinco AMPS 277 +3.5 137 +5 118

Very nice slide for Cinco today....that yellow PS was just a short little blip! Great that Sasha is feeling and eating well, too. You know we need a picture of her in her sockie sweater!!

Have a great evening, Tricia!

That's a lovely slide for Cinco today. Good job and how nice that he's been seeking attention!! Happy to hear that Sasha's sneezes are fewer!! Now, if only my sneezes would lessen!!!!  Hope you've had a great Monday, Tricia.

Re: 8/11 Cinco PMPS 141

Of course, Cinco would have a lower blue reading when I had to leave him! He required extra incentive to eat all his dinner (crushed FD salmon). I set Otto to offer food at +2 and +3, but who knows if he'll eat it? I just know he and China have plans to meet at the lagoon!

Lydette, thanks for the nice comments about Cinco. That picture was taken before he went blind. I used to feed him in the doorway from the kitchen to the dining room, and he would come and sit there just like that, very politely, waiting for his plate, while the other kitties circled me like sharks! I always thought he was showing he was too proud to beg.

Wendy, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then! Don't worry, I'm sure it won't become a habit. Very scary about the cougar and coyote. I had an aunt who kept losing kitties to coyotes in Tucson, but she still let them out. I adored her, but I wanted to smack her. After the fourth one she decided she wasn't going to be a food service for coyotes and stopped getting cats. This is one of many reasons all my kitties are strictly indoor.

Ann, I think I did okay with the shot (I guess I'll know when I get home and test him). I smelled Lantus before I shot him, but I double checked the syringe and it still had the full dose in it, so I must have pulled a drop out on the tip and it fell off. I think..... :? Thanks for the info on the food. I've never seen it in the stores I shop in, but I'll do some web surfing and see if I can find it. I hope you can buy a sample first. I'd hate to buy 3 lbs and have them hate it! I was lucky that the feed store where I bought the Instinct let me take back the unused food for a refund.

Carla, so far Sasha hasn't managed to remove the sock like she used to do with the t-shirts. I did catch her scratching at her neck right above the sock, but she stopped when I told her to. No telling if she's scatching while I'm gone! I wonder if it would help if I got those Soft Paws claw caps and put them on her right rear foot? I thought about some kind of bootie, but she'd probably get it off.

Amy, I thought about taking a picture but didn't get the chance before we left for bowling. I'll try to get one of her soon and post it.

Deborah, I cherish every little bit of affection I can squeeze out of Cinco, as he is a pretty stoic cat. Last night when I was brushing him, my other hand was resting on the back of the sofa in front of him, and he started rubbing his face on it. He never does that! I melted. :-D

I missed the first game of bowling, since I wanted to make sure Cinco was eating and set up Otto, but the team won the game without my inspring presence in the peanut gallery! Fortunately, they won the second one, too, or they might have told me to stay away next time!

Re: 8/11 Cinco PMPS 141

Nice start to the night for Cinco. I hope he ate whle you were out and that you had fun bowling.

Well, phoo. I am reasonably sure I did not give a fur shot, but what's with the +4.5? Obviously, I needn't have worried about his going too low while I was gone. He did eat most of the food I left him, the little pig. And ate when when I got home, too. China must have let him know she wasn't going to the lagoon tonight, so he decided not to, too. :YMSIGH:
